If we're picking 8 or later, no doubt.
Stockpile big men and laugh at the league as they struggle to rebound.
If we're picking 8 or later, no doubt.
Well I have a feeling with his potential he may go top 5 to 8. Speaking of P jones
Rivers has better teammates. If Curry had Duke players think it would be higher.
Despite all of Duke's talent, they never have a lot of high assist guys. Even Kyrie Irving only averaged about 4.5 (granted it was 11 games) and he's an elite PG who has been playing PG all his life. I think you guys are focusing too much on the numbers and ignoring the system he plays in.
4.5 is fairly high for a college freshman in his first 11 games. You would have to think it would improve over the year as he got into the soft ACC schedule.
So if 4.5 is fairly high for a college freshman, would that make Rivers assist numbers average since he is also a college freshman who isn't even playing PG?
Weber State lost last night, which means they won't make the tournament. We won't get to see Lillard against good competition.
Could be a blessing. Won't be drafted as high.
I could see Jones dropping to at least 8, maybe past 10. The dude just sucks most of the time.
Being a freshman he could still be a top 5 pick, but by staying this year he screwed himself. His stats are nearly identical this year from last year.
You could be right, but if I were a GM looking at his stats from last year to this year, I'd take into consideration the difference in talent from last year of his Baylor team. Miller wasn't on the team last year. This years team is better then last years team. On a better team a players numbers are bound to drop. I haven't seen his #'s from last year, but as you said if they are similar to this year one might say he his better. I'm not arguing with you just giving another perspective on his upside.
Coming out one year later, and if a gm feels like this, then he is one year closer to reaching his potential. As I said before you could be right, most of this is guess work on my part, and just my opinion. That's why I can see him going very high in the draft. Just curious has Jones said which position he'd rather play in the NBA? If he wants to play sf, and proves it in workouts, that would raise his stock I'm guessing. That's something else to consider.
That would make sense if his %'s improved or stayed the same, but he is shooting the ball significantly worse.

Jones III will move back up the draft board teams over value height.
