Following potential 2012 draftees

I meant it the way I said it .. late 2nd.

Having said that, he's as good at shooting the ball and is as good as an athlete as anyone in the draft .. or VERY close. He's the best athlete on UK's team and is hitting 50% from three the past 20 games. That is an intriguing player in the late 2nd.

PKM, would you trade CJ for a mid to late second round pick to draft this kid?

I have watched Kentucky several times and would do it in a heart beat. I think the kid can play as a reserve in the NBA. He certainly can be as good as CJ without the frustration. What is your opinion?

So, I have to re-hash the Darius Miller thing. I, admittedly, haven't hardly seen him at all but if he's as good a shooter as anyone in the draft and an elite athlete with good/great size for the position, what separates Harrison Barnes from him then? I'm not at all being sarcastic, I see Barnes as a very good shooter (spot up, mostly) with V E R Y average athleticism for the next level.

Both are playing elite competition, etc. What makes Barnes, roughly, top 8 and D Miller a late second round?

Attitude. Meaning, take-over attitude. Miller plays hard, but he just doesn't feel like he's supposed to be a scorer. He has a good teammate type of attitude, but he lacks a killer instinct. He has the ability, period .. but has never shown a desire to be the man.

In the game on this past Thursday, against Georgia, he had 17pts, 2rbs, 3asts, 2stls ... on 5/9 from 3. He was more assertive because it was senior night and Calipari TOLD him to. He normally just likes to let the others have their time in the spotlight ... I've never understood it, drives me crazy, but it is what it is.

In a minute. He's a better shooter, plays very solid defense, and plays SMART basketball.

Showing a little athleticism.

He has intrigued me all season. He seems like a player that fits the Jazz system very well. He competes hard, plays defense and is unselfish. I can see him as the type of player that will have a big game a few times a season and in between he will do everything he can to help you win.

He certainly seems like an NBA prospect to me. Some team will be very happy that they drafted him.

@PKM

When he was in high school, I believe some scouts/analysts thought Perry Jones might end up being a SF at the NBA level. Have you heard anything on the manner lately? Does anyone see that as an actual possibility anymore?

Not really. He's being pursued more a stretch 4. He is not a 3, now way. I guess in the right system he could get some meaningful minutes there and I'd probably call him a 3 as much as Sap, at least, but he's being recruited as 4.

I"m not sure if he's somebody we would draft, but what are you guys thinking of Moe Harkless from St. Johns? Puts up good numbers although he plays a lot of minutes which makes a difference obviously, very athletic but not that great of a shooter. You think he'll enter the draft?

The 2 times I watched him I found he was very very athletic, can't shoot worth a lick but is very raw. He plays solid defense, excels in transition but is not the best ball handler for a SF. If he improved his shooting, he would be a lottery pick. I doubt he comes out but if he does, he will be a steal if someone can improve his shot

If he gets to be Realistic Ricardo, I get to be Rico Suave.

BTW, I'm starting to lean more towards DJ Augistine than any of these other guards in the draft. I don't think he would be that difficult to attain either.

Id rather shoot for the stars and attempt to get a rookie PG who may be good, then just settle for a mediocre starting PG who is worse than our current starting PG.

What do you guys think of Jae Crowder. 17 points 8 boards 2 steals 1 block 52% fg 38% 3point%. 6'6 SF 235. Plays very hard and improved tremendously from jr year to sr year. Reminds me of a better shooting Paul Millsap but not as good of a rebounder. I think he'll be a great second round steal

I like both nancy and Ricardo.

Darius miles reminds me of Matthews. Just that type of player. I would take him in the second round.

I would take pj3 over Leonard so fast it would Make your head swim. In the 9-12 range pj3 is almost a steal. Then trade one of bigs for a sf.

This draft is stacking up to be ver interesting. I am liking lillard more and more but I would complain about the jazz going out after Calderon, Felton or Augustin. (Augustin preferably) then just draft BPA period. If the cant get a sf in the first there is always players in round 2 like a miles or even machado.
