GSW Draft Pick Watch

Cant you see whats going to happen? The jazz are going to finish exactly 500 and end up with 14th pick overall. And gs will end on 8 but will win the lottery and move to number 1

This is how I envision things playing out: GS finishes 7th worst, while we finish 9th worst, then we win the lottery and bump GS to the 8th pick.

This is actually the best scenario I have heard of yet. It would be hilarious too.

Let's all pray this happens

In the name of Jesus Christ

AMEN!

what happens around the NBA at the trade deadline could make or break this pick.

I worry that if we don't get the pick during this draft, GSW will go into full rebuild mode and this pick will be protected until it turns into nothing.

I share your concern. :(

Stupid Golden State. I would rather they go on a winning streak so they get their hopes up and keep trying then tank at the end. You know that they if it keeps going bad that they are going to just tank it now.

Just an FYI about GS, they have not had Curry since the All-Star break. He makes a big difference for that team.

Getting the 14th pick may be a blessing in disguise. It would allow us to get KENDALL MARSHALL. Anything before 14 might have been too much of a stretch to pick him, but I could see Utah getting him at 14.

Marshall??

LOL.. this is Knight vs Kanter all over again.. and we all know who was right about that one!

Lillard FTW

The owner swears that they will not tank and want to build a winning franchise. We shall see when the end of the season comes and losing a few games at the end means a top 7 pick I know which way a lot of teams would go.

we'll see today GS at Washington, but i'm more concerned about our pick, Portland and Boston are very near and if we get 15 seed bye bye Kendal Marshal or whoever..

I think as long as we don't make the playoffs, our pick is secured. As it stands right now, we're 2 losses behind #8 Denver.
There's 9 teams behind GS.

GSW is thrashing Washington today.. doesn't seem like their GM has told Jackson to tank (yet). Which is a good sign for us.

Also I think it's pretty safe to say that teams that are behind GSW will continue to get even worse (Toronto, Washington, Detroit, NO, Kings, Cats, NJ). Not to mention the fading Cleveland. So I'm not too worried about the GSW pick. Not yet anyway..

Ellis with 25pts. He's not the kinda player that would just tank for the good of the team. He'll score as much as he can to keep his trade value high.

I don't think any players "tank". Some may give up on the season and not give 100% effort or become selfish, but I highly doubt any players ever purposely lose.

I like Lillard, but his level of competition still makes me hesitant to jump on the bandwagon.

That could actually be a blessing in disguise, if he's projected too high I'm pretty sure other teams would be picking him up before us (depending on final rankings).

I guess at the end of the day it's up to KOC to determine whether his skills would translate at the NBA level.

It is a bit of a crapshoot. This time last year, I was warning against Hayward and Paul George for the very same reason. (and more so George ..)

Right. Well, Lillard definitely seems to have the physical tools to make it in the NBA, I'm just not sure if he's worth a lottery pick. Not saying he's not, it's just hard to make that assessment when he's playing against scrubs. KOC better do his homework.

You'd think - as these guys are doing this for a living - they'd be able to figure that out pretty easily whether a player translate. For example, how did everyone miss on MarShon Brooks? He looked to have the shooting form, athletic, good composure, offensive moves, etc, etc. I think it's a toss up right now who's better between him VS Burks at the SG spot from last year's draft. And Brooks was pick 25th!!!
