What's new

Burks=Young Wade

Also, stop licking your Gordon Damn lips! You make Ronnie Brewer look like... I dunno, someone who doesn't lick their lips a lot!

This post........really reminds me of a poster.........that I hate!!!!!

Funny what age does to a man.

Interesting comparison.

Penny was a better shooter though, no?

Penny was pretty good in his day pre-injuries. Yeah he was a great shooter, but he also had a whole career to hone his game.

For those of you that don't remember, here you go:

He is like Michael Jordan.

Don't be afraid to say it.

Well all can see that he is the next Michael Jordan.

Why do people keep saying his jumper isn't that good. It looks pretty sweet to me.

Isn't Burks two years younger than Wade was in his rookie year. Burks could definitely fill out more in a couple of years. Look at MJ, he was pretty wiry too when he was a rookie, and he was older than Burks too.

He **** al over Pippen in this video. Ive seen clips of him outplay Jordan as well. A shame that his career was affected by injuries

Just wait until you're 31 like me and your sack hits the water when you drop a deuce. You really start to see things differently. (a.k.a. correctly)

Yeah, both he and Grant Hill would've been REALLY special had it not been for all their injury troubles. Grant Hill used to average LeBron-like numbers in Detroit.

Sack hits the water eh? Ha. Im surprised that you don't have the libido of a nun, seeing as you're in your 30s and all.

I agree with the d wade comparisons even though d wade has more strength and hops! But I can't think of any other player that he is more similar to!

I loved penny but he had nothing on "lil penny"! "That was Tyra Banks fool."

I was watching the game with one eye, trying to pay attention to my kid with the other. All of a sudden I see a flash on the screen and realized it was Burks streaking in for a layup. Get these guys to play more open offensively (i.e. not the drop it into Al style) andUtah can be very good. I actually saw some good P&R attempts tonight. We don't get any of that with Jefferson.

Burks and Favors are the only allstar potentials right now on the Jazz.Burks has a longer way though and he is nowhere a Wade like player, Wade is just a animal.

Penny Hardaway before his knees disintegrated was a 6-7 point guard who could do alot of things, but really like to post up smaller guards and could go middle and dish or spin baseline and could elevate and dunk with ease. Really dont' see the similarities to Burks, but if we absolutely must compare Burks to another NBA player, at this stage in his career he reminds me of a young Derek Anderson.

Comparisons aside, the one thing Burks has you can't teach is that natural ability around the rim, where he can hang, absorb contact and still get his shot off. Has the first-step, the natural quickness and elevation, but that craftiness and body control around the rim is what could make him special imo.

You see it in his rebounding and defense as well; he seems completely unfazed by the speed and physicality of the NBA. Who was the last Jazz rookie that was true of?
