What's new

Jazz @ Kings 3/22/12 8PM MT Game Thread

Good points. Utah is still pretty sputtery but they are getting a lot better. I thought it was special they were able to pull out a tough W while Sap had a bad series of plays. The Jazz don't just do it one way. Hayward has been phenomenal in clutch time too. He might be ready for the postseason.

I haven't been tracking Hayward's FT%, but is it just me, or does it seem like he's money lately? I always thought he could be a 85%+ FT shooter, and while he struggled with confidence early, it looks like he's figuring things out.

The win is a win is a win crowd and the "he made the game winning shot" ain't gonna like it, but I noticed again that while Big Al prospers, the team suffers. BA had a great start on offense, he scored 10 points early on and yet the Jazz were at best tied. It was only when Favors came in for Sap with improved D that we moved ahead.

Bad D loses games and BA and Sap together are bad D.

I would have liked to see Corbin put Kanter or Favors up against D. Cousins more in the game. We should have beat the kings by at least 5 points

The Jazz also lost that huge lead with the starters on the bench and won when they came back in.

Over the last month he's been making 93% of his FT tries, and 83% for the year overall.

Al kept us in the game during the first quarter. Cousins couldn't stop him and it was Millsap that was lacking on defense this game.

agree, Al at times played solid man defense. Millsap was horrible all game long on offense and defense. One last nitpick, was it just me or could no one on the Jazz catch a simple pass last night.

I agree, but I would still like to see Corbin use situation substitutions, like putting in Favors for Jefferson with 14 seconds left because you need a stop and a rebound. Other than that, take the W and get out of Cow Town.
Not exactly what you meant I'm sure but wanted to point out Favors was put in on the last play to guard the inbound passer, believe he was in for Harris.
But yes I was hoping as poor of a matchup the Kings are for Sap and as poorly as he was playing that maybe on the last few possessions at least we'd see Favors in for him.

Not saying Sap is a bad player or poor defender he just had a bad game and a bad matchup last night.

Is anyone else starting to get excited every time Favors is on the court? Lately he has been amazing on both ends of the floor.

Alright, Alright. Wasnt sure. Millsap hitting those threes were crazy, but wonder if he has hit as many total since. Trying to work at the same time so not a lot of time to decypher posts.

I hear ya there. Millsap had a game this year (Minny I think) were he drained a couple 3s in another insane crazy game.

The key we got a W I think is because Alec Burks was on the court in the last minutes.

Don't get me wrong - I just think he is the man who really can win a championship in this ball game.

And this kind of type of players bring special impact in crunch time.

We have good players, but this kid is special.

He was key down the stretch. He should have been in a minute earlier but the ref wouldn't let him sub in. Unsure why.

I'm not sure if this was the case, but someone was mentioning (perhaps Locke) that if a 20 sec timeout is called, a team can only sub in a player if the other team makes a sub. I didn't know this, and once again, I'm not sure if that's what happend with Burks.

The question is does Ty know this, because when Burks wasn't let in Ty acted all butt hurt.
