If old people were on the verge of rioting in the streets, I'm sure Obama would say something to calm the situation.

Spike Lee shouldn't have done that. I don't think there is anything illegal about retweeting an address, but it was in poor taste.

They just need to hurry up and arrest Zimmerman before this situation boils over.

Spike Lee is trying to incite a race riot. We need to arrest him before the situation boils over. We can figure out exactly why we've arrested him later.

I agree with your other points.

The bolded topic I disagree with conditionally. If the have enough to arrest him than they should. If not they need to hold a press conference and explain why. That should help alleviate the PR issue somewhat. Mob sentiment is not enough to convict or arrest (thank god).

Our just arrest the killer that has everyone worked up. That seems like a simpler solution.

The lead investigator on the case thought they had enough to arrest and charge him the night of the shooting. The people who over ruled him are no longer working this case.

They need to arrest him and charge him. If he bails out, so be it. Let it play out in court.

If that officer/police station held a PR conference and expalined what they had and why Mr. Zimmerman it would either show why he should not be arrested and charged or presure the DA into filing charges and get Mr. Zimmerman arrested.

So again my press conference idea is a good one. Thank you for supporting it.

I think a press conference making a statement, no matter how small, would go a long way towards pacifying the masses.

I may not be the officer on scene, but I know the officer on scene tried to arrest and charge Zimmerman but was over ruled.

It would be a terrible idea to hold a press conference and detail all the evidence in the case they are building. They just need to arrest the admitted killer and let it play out in court.

I am not talking to Scat right now am I? He may very well be doing that. But so is/was Salty.

You do not have to get into every specific detail but you could clearly pressure the DA to prosecute with a personal conference. That way people are not just PMSing the streets.

They already released an affidavit saying the lead investigator wanted to arrest and charge him, but was over ruled by the state attorney (who is no longer working this case). What do you want them to say in this press conference that won't release any critical details of the case but will still somehow pressure the state attorney to press charges?

I am honestly suprised that it took DC this long to try and come up with laws. I can get on board with a neighborhood watch registering but I can see tha law being spun into something it was never meant to be. Like everything else.

I don't think they need to change any laws or put any extra restrictions on guns or anything like that. They just need to enforce the laws that are already on the books.

You don't need to take guns away from anyone. They just need to make sure they lock people up if they kill unarmed kids.
