Following potential 2012 draftees

Anyone think there's a chance Marshall falls to us at 13/14? I feel like Portland and NO will both take one of the PG's (Marshall, Lillard) with their second pick. So if we want a PG from the draft, we may have to take one with our first pick (assuming we get it). Thoughts?

What I am hearing is Kendall could be gone by 8 or 9 .. so yeah.

Portland's looking for the next Roy with the New Jersey pick. I think they've been clear about that. Marshall isn't their type of player. I'd be more worried about Portland taking Rivers, Beal, Lilliard, Barnes, and Perry Jones. They seem to like very athletic wings and shooters.

I'm like 90% sure that Portland will take Rivers or Beal and a center.

Damn, you're hearing Marshall by 8 or 9? That's right where the GSW pick is....I was hoping we could get BPA and then Marshall.
Out of the teams in that range...I dont see the following teams going for Marshall:

1) Detroit- They have Knight....do they even like him? I dunno
2) Sacto - They really like Isiaha Thomas over there

I can see Toronto, New Orleans going for him though....but NO's 2nd pick is after ours and Toronto's 1st pick is around 6 right now...I don't see them reaching that far for Marshall.

Let me clarify. I'm seeing a few 'teams' preliminary BPA lists .. not team need-specific. Marshall has moved up the BPA lists at light speed. I can also confirm a lot of this is due to the lack of (or perception thereof) elite PG's coming into the league the next THREE years.

New Orleans is going to have two picks in the top 10 with the way Minnesota is playing. They could be taking Marshall with their 2nd pick. They don't need a SG with Eric Gordon. They will have Robinson, MKG, Davis, or Drummond, then could easily take Lillard or Marshall.

Also, Blazers could have two top 12 picks. They need a PG (and defensive big, but that really isn't there where they are picking) more than anything.

No it's not. They own Minnesota's pick. That is going to be way before ours.

Well, it definitely sounds like we would have to take Marshall with the GS pick if we want him, then BPA with our own pick. I'd be down with that.

I wonder if Portland is considering trading their picks (they have 4, including 2 in the early 2nd) to move up to get Drummond? A Drummond/Aldridge front-court is monstrous in size, length, athletic ability, and skill.

I would be OK with it. PJ3, Josh Henson, and Terrance Jones are probably the better players available at 8, and I'm not a big fan of them.

Will be interesting to see if Barnes drops to 8 though, and if he does, do we take him?

It would be really ironic if they got Drummond after the whole Oden fiasco.

Me either. I've warmed up a bit to T-Jones, though. Never been a fan of Henson, and I don't think PJ3 has the heart, BBIQ, or work ethic to ever approach his potential.

Not quite seeing the irony. Does Drummond have a history of injuries?

Idk, maybe ironic isn't the right word...poetic, I suppose? Just them drafting a center with limitless potential, having it completely flop, then draft the next center to come along with supposed unlimited potential...but a lot of bust potential, as well. Maybe I'm just talking out of my ***.
