Black Kid Shot in Gated Neighboorhood

Nope, couldn't find it online. Found a bunch of reports talking about it from sources that had evidently seen it, but none of them posted the actual affidavit.

I'm sure you'll see it on TV though. At least that's where I've seen it (several times) over the past few days.

I guess what is driving my engine at the moment is the Duke lacrosse case from a few years back. Sharpton and his ilk were right there on the front lines to lynch the Duke students but when the truth came out there was no apology nor even an acknowledgement that they were in the wrong and the media never calls him or Jackson on it. I guess I just get tired of the victim mentality while taking no responsibility.

Oh, Sharpton has a long history of being the source of smear campaigns and lies. See Tawana Brawley, 1987.

2nd degree manslaughter. Oh no! I guess me, Scat, and Millsapa were wrong this whole time and look pretty stupid now. :( Geez, we really do look pretty dumb. I guess us three will have to then look at our other opinions and see how wrong those are too. Shoot

Pretty sure it was murder, not manslaughter.

Interesting if he'll get convicted and what sort of evidence they have.

According to Alan Dershowitz the evidence that they have is next to nothing and none of it dispels reasonable doubt. He predicts the case will be tossed before it ever goes to trial.

“Most affidavits of probable cause are very thin. This is so thin that it won’t make it past a judge on a second degree murder charge,” Dershowitz said. “There’s simply nothing in there that would justify second degree murder.”

“I think what you have here is an elected public official who made a campaign speech last night for reelection when she gave her presentation and overcharged. This case will not – if the evidence is no stronger than what appears in the probable cause affidavit – this case will result in an acquittal.”

“But it’s worse than that,” said Dershowitz. “It’s irresponsible and unethical in not including material (the total lack of any mention of the supposed fight that occurred between Martin and Zimmerman prior to Martin being shot) that favors the defendant.”

“This affidavit does not even make it to probable cause,” Dershowitz concluded. “everything in the affidavit is completely consistent with a defense of self-defense. Everything.”

Y'all ready for Rodney King Riots 2.0?

I started watchign the press conference where they were announcign the charges and I had to turn it off. She was over the top in her bullcrap. What I wanted from her was facts. not feelings and political grandstanding.

Not defending Zimmerman or attacking him. Just saying that the press conference was indeed a campaign speach.

I turned it off when she mentioned "justice for Trayvon". It shouldn't be justice for anyone, simply justice whether it is for Trayvon or Zimmerman. Her comment came across as very biased.

Police said Zimmerman, who has been charged with second-degree murder in the racially charged case, was bleeding from the nose and the back of his head and was treated by medics before being taken to Sanford police station after the February 26 shooting.

Jorge Rodriguez, Zimmerman's next-door neighbor, told Reuters that when he saw Zimmerman the day after the incident, "he had two big, butterfly bandages on the back of his head, and another big bandage...on the bridge of his nose." He was talking to a police detective in his driveway.

Rodriguez's wife Audria also said she saw the bandages and a third neighbor, who spoke only on condition of anonymity, agreed with the Rodriguez couple's account. "I saw two bandages on the back of his head, and his nose was all swollen up," said the witness, who had watched from a nearby second-floor window.

Hopefully Zimmerman is given the death penalty by firing squad, and all the pigs who tried to sweep it under the rug or cover it up. I do love how the white christian right has used Zimmerman as their rallying figure. Someone who needed a little power, who shot and killed an unarmed 17 year old. A real martyr! LOL .. My biggest disappointment is that I won't be around in 100 years to read how pathetic the GW-Bush, Walmart, God Bless America, Nascar lunatics look in the history books. The second biggest stain on US society behind Zubaz pants, and it's loyal customers.

Good thing nobody has used Trayvon similarly.

What?? Trayvon was the one that was killed. Of course people are going to rally around an unarmed kid who was shot and killed. I'm not necessarily rallying around him, but that isn't my point. The only facts of this case we know so far is that Zimmerman was the neighborhood watchman with a gun, who ultimately shot and killed an unarmed 17 year old, and coincidentally the Nascar, United We Stand, pseudo-Patriots who love Sean Hannity chose him as their rallying figure to unite the disjointed party during these primaries.

I just found the circumstance to be weird, and the person they choose even more head-scratching.

If you can't see that Sharpton, Jackson & the New Black Panthers are using this just as much as "the Nascar, United We Stand, pseudo-Patriots who love Sean Hannity" then I don't know what else to say to you.

That's fine. They're equally pathetic in my view (the ones trying to capitalize on Trayvon being a victim like Jackson, Sharpton, etc). But in this particular case, siding with the person who shot and killed an unarmed person while on 'neighborhood watch' is deplorable.

It's one thing to be adamant about the law figuring it out, and letting the courts sort through it and ultimately make a ruling one way or another - but it's another to back the alleged criminal with as much vigor as those I scoff at have done. I just don't understand the logic in it.

Of all social issues, and news stories, to choose from it's amazing that group chose defending Zimmerman as the one thing they could all come together on.
