Following potential 2012 draftees

Looked at his stats and he doesn't even average .5 bpg. I think blocking shots is a necessity to being the "Next AK with a 3pt shot".

Ok ak in the passing but he does block but doesn't get a lot of playing time.

Oh better yet he is the next Lamar odom.

Yeah, I always hate looking at EURO stats because they are so hard to translate to the NBA game at times. He still got enough minutes though to were he should have around 1 per game if he was an AK like dominant shot blocker, or at least I would think.

I agree if you are a shot blocker you should average at least 1 block evey 10 min on the floor. Davis will average 2 per

Anthony Davis? Before the season, on this board, I said he would average 4blks. Most laughed .. he averagred nearly 5 .. and has all the accolades. He also surpassed all those that thought the best. I say he averages (first year) 2 blks, sure .. but 3.5blks per 30mpg.

I can't believe that this has not been posted yet but this might have brought me the most joy today:

Jazz GM O'Connor said just because Utah doesn't have a 2012 first-round pick after lottery doesn't mean Jazz won't end up with one.

O'Connor said there are many options that would allow Jazz to get into lottery if they want and — as always — everything will be explored.

Both of these tweets are brought to you by Brian T Smith @tribjazz.

Again, I know that this news still leaves a lot to be interpreted but I like the fact that "there are many options that would allow Jazz to get into lottery if they want". It is just nice to know that there are options. This might also create some angry people if we don't get a lottery pick automatically, and KOC doesn't trade for one.

Pretty classic KOC talk. Basically just says "Bitch, there are options, be patient and stop bothering me."

I agree with that. It seems like there have been actual discussions about it though. At this point I am pro playoffs. If they can get to the playoffs AND add a lottery pick, that will trump anything that other up and coming teams have done.

I don't think O'Connor will make a trade to draft a rookie. Looks at what's going on with the team and the way its structured. Kevin may have said that he will actively shop trades. But just look at the track record minus the Dwill trade(both times)There is really not much to hope for. Don't kid yourself. He doesn't want to draft anymore rookies. I even would be a little worried that he would trade one of our picks if we had one. I don't think he is a bad GM. I just don't agree with his style. He is really conservative. I would like our GM to be more aggressive
I don't think he will make any kind of trade for rookie in the near future. I almost think he might rather space his rookie contracts out if possible. That has its benefits. It could actually be that he prefer we cash in on our picks down the road. I believe that to be the case. And who knows. He could be right.

In my own humble opinion though,I think we need to stock pile just a little more talent.

I think KOC sees the future of Favors. I think he knows that he needs to see Favors in two years of a starting role to see what he has when it comes time to re-sign or extend him. That can really only be done two ways, either trading Sap or Jefferson, or permanently moving Sap to SF.

My biggest fear is that the Jazz have one good series in the playoffs and suddenly Jefferson and Millsap are extended. I am pro Millsap (for the right money) and I am anti Jefferson (for any amount). They have done a great job of getting the "core" to where they are now but by the start of next season they could seriously hinder the progress.

He could be a great 4th big. I have been extremely disappointed in him the last two seasons. Maybe if he has less to take on he can shine in that situation.

I know, I just saw his stats for this season after looking at the Bobcats roster and thinking "Oh god, Tyrus Thomas". In a lot of ways he reminds me of Anthony Davis. Monster shot blocker and super long and athletic. Seemed like a hard worker, dedicated player in college at the time. Don't know what happened to him.

And yes, I know Davis has a good 2-3'' height difference on Thomas.

Exactly. The question, though, is when he plans to go through with a trade, or if he's just going to let Jefferson's contract expire after next season before allowing Favors to start. But hopefully the right trade presents itself this summer (preferably one that gets us a lottery pick).

Agree with all of this. This summer seems like the ideal time to make a Jefferson trade, IMO.

Tryus Thomas has all the physical ability but the main reason is he doesn't have the mentality to be a great player. He hasn't worked on his game nor is his BBIQ that high. Great players have the "it" factor regardless of the physical abilities or lack of physical abilities.
