My way to early seedings for the West

1. Lakers: but they wont run away with it. Kobe is due for an injury, let us hope.
2. Jazz: Jefferson gives us more size with similiar production of Booz. Raja and Hayward will be assassins from the 3 point line. AK should have a big year being a contract year. Deron will be Deron. Should all add up to about 56 wins.
3. Oklahoma City: Durant will replace Kobe as the 3rd best player in the league behind Lebon and Wade, and all their young guys will just get better. They are what Portland was supposed to be 3 years ago.
4. Denver: Still tough with Carmelo and his thugs. Lawson is great and may even replace Chauncey as the starter giving them great depth there. Harrington and JR is the defenition of scoring punch off the bench.
5. Dallas: They failed to make any significant off season moves except resign Dirk and Haywood. With him and Jason Kidd a year older, can't see them improving.
6. Portland: Wes Matthews is all they did and doesn't do much except give them a little more depth. Oden will be brought along very slowly but they could make some noise at playoff time if he's back to 100%
7. San Antonio: They are slowly getting some new blood in their for the day Duncan calls it quits. Splitter could be a nice piece to repalce Duncan in a couple years when his contract is up.
8. Houston: Yao is back, and that is at least good enough for an eight seed.

Looks good to me!

Although may I offer one suggestion?

Swap San Antonio with Houston so the Jazz can beat them in the first round yet again.

It's more poetic that way I think.

Wow. While I agree with most, but not all of your reasoning, I must say this is about the same order as I would put the west in as well. Good job.

Dallas is one of those teams that I never even consider as a contender. Even in years when they've had a pretty good record, there's just something about that team that doesn't sit right with me. They're boring as hell to watch too.

Everyone is overrating OKC.

Lakers
Denver
Utah
Portland
OKC
Dallas
Houston
Memphis

This is if all teams stay fully healthy.

As much as I hate denver, theyre a well rounded team that could win a championship if they got their egos in check.

It didn't work for them last year. What makes you think this year will be any different? Do you really think Al Harrington is going to make a hugh impact? I see where you're coming from though. They certainly have the talent to be a great team. For some reason, it's not clicking into place.

I think Al harrington + Melo`s contract year + george karl means they will be able to win 50-60 games.

Im not saying theyll win it all but I can see them easily being the 2nd seed.

This is seedings not playoff predictions.

and just what makes you think the Jazz will finish with 2nd seed? It never worked for them last 4 years, when they didnt finish higher than fifth seed. what makes you think this year will be any different? You cant really say that we improved a lot talent-wise. At best, we are slightly better.

While we have shown in the playoffs that we are better than a fifth seed in the past, somehow we have never played that way in the regular season. Losing to bad teams on the road and often fumbling down the stretch. Overall, the Jazz may well be the second best team in the west. But that doesnt necessarily mean they will finish with the 2nd seed in the standings.
They tend to mail it in a bit in the regular season. Kind of like the Celtics, although the Celtics were a lot better in the playoffs. Jazz have to be tougher and more consistent to finish with the second seed in the regular season, even if they may very well be the next best team to the Lakers in the playoffs

I can't believe that you have denver at the two seed. ****ing idiot.

Even Denver fans don't think as highly of their own team as you do. OKC will be pretty good btw. Watch and see. There's far too much talent on that team for them not to be. If they found a way to keep it together, they have a future dynasty in the making. I don't think they'll have the cash to keep them all though.

Way to make an alt account to insult me.

Im thinking logical. Which most Jazz fans cant do.

alt account?? Who do you think this is? I just joined and this is the first thread i looked at and had to see your sorry *** comment.

And yet Jazz fans have a right to say were going to be the 2nd seed when we have had the 5th seed and 8th seed for the past 4 years?

GTFO

Im talking about seedings this doesnt determine denver gets to the WCF because theyre the second seed.

No idea where we will end up but I can definitely see Denver falling off. I don't see them getting the 2nd seed. JMO.

Any team could fall off in the west besides the Lakers.

Based on Talent and consistency I can Denver being the 2nd seed.

They havent changed from last year and they added a veteran that can score.

The Jazz have added 3 new pieces and lost some aswell.

I wouldnt be surprised at all if Utah got the 2nd seed.

But my head is telling me a fully healthy Denver team with Carmelo having a contract year and Billups/Karl doing his best to keep the teams egos in check they can win the NW division.

OKC PORTLAND UTAH or Denver could.
