With the 47th Pick, Kevin Murphy

FWIW, I really think that Kev-Kev will surprise us all, and contribute at a relatively early rate. Im excited to see what he has to offer. 6'6" barefoot is more than enough height for a bench role as an SF, imo. Perfect replacement for CJ and Howard. I am pulling for the guy, and I think that he will offer some decent shooting for this team. Everybody needs to calm the hell down.

If we can get picks, then great, consider me to be a happy little school girl.

As for the ESPN headline, of course it's going to be LA centric. The Clippers could be getting Jarron Collins and it would still read "Jazz May Help Clips Get Collins".

This is Negotiation 102: "Hey LA and Dallas, we can get picks for this TPE. We're already talking to teams who want to dump their garbage on us for picks. So if you're not giving us picks we like, we're done here."

Thanks for the lessons. You are a great teacher.

My personal theory is we get the midget from Marquette as compensation for the Mo deal. Maybe it's the middle aged center. But one of those two picks is heading our way. Dallas doesn't want all those guys they drafted. I hope that's not the case, but that's my theory.

Has someone already mentioned how similar these two guys look...or am I being accidentally racist again?

Never saw him play. Don't know anything about him. Taking a chance on a scorer in the second round has no downside.

If this guy can run off a screen hit a mid range jumper, or lurk on the wings for the corner 3; and actually make a decent percentage of these shots (which it seems he has these abilities) I think that will suffice for the 47th pick. Oh yes and this assumes he can play defense at a satisfactory level.

But yeah, I know nothing about him, other than what I just saw in some youtube videos and a stat sheet. Anyway welcome aboard, K-murph.

Gotta love people upset with this pick... At 47, who exactly are ya gonna get?

It's like... People were expecting Lebron or Dwade at 47....

If this kid makes the team and survives the NBA for more than a year then this kid will have been a success.

Really folks, at 47, who were you really expecting? Who should we have taken?

it just wouldn't be draft time if we didn't have a million posters bitching away.

We're not bitching about Kevin per se.

I think there is a certain emotional cross-over from the fact that we could have done better to get in where the action is...

So what's the answer folks?

What should KOC have done?

What if no one wanted Millsap, Jefferson, or Harris? Those are realistically our only tradeable assets right now. Maybe no one was willing to give up a first rounder for any of those players. I know the only one I'd consider would be Millsap.

And I don't think the frustration is about what KOC should have done. I've read at least 5 posts on the first page complaining about this wasted pick. Huh? As if there was someone who we missed at 47? Taking a chance on a scorer at 47 isn't bad at all. There just isn't much at #47.

I hope KOC is creating a bidding war...even if there isn't really one. Both LA and Dallas want this deal to happen, so either could step forward with additional value. Problem is the TPE expires in December. Players generally don't get traded then; last year was an odd situation. Really, the TPE needs to be used before training camp and likely in the next couple of weeks when free agency and player movement is at a peak. My fear is that like so many times before, Greg and KOC will opt for cash savings and just let the TPE expire. Then KOC will tell us at the trade deadline that he shopped Jefferson and Harris, but there was nothing out there that would have made the team better. In the end, Jazz may let all 3 big assets go unused.
