Reports are both Roger Mason and Danny Green have interest in Utah. Thoughts?

As long as you don't overpay for Danny Green and you think he can play minutes at the 3, then YES.

I don't know if this is the right thread for this little thought, but here it goes:

the market for Jefferson is going to be held up by the pending movements of Gasol and Howard. The losers in these deals will only then pursue Jefferson. KOC can wait for this to go down, or pursue a deal with the likes of Milwaukee right away, since they likely won't be a player.

This is all a way of introducing the idea that Milwaukee players should be considered in any comprehensive list of "potential jazzmen"

i dont like Green or mason I think their both whack and We have better guys On are team already like Burks hayward carroll and murphy

You can't seriously be stating that Murphy, a second round draft pick who hasn't proven anything, is better then Danny Green. Green shot 43% from three last year.

Carroll hasn't been half as good as Danny Green has to date, and I like Carroll. Honestly, considering Hayward's consistency problems and Burks limited body of work, I'm not sure that what Danny Green did last season doesn't put him in the conversation for best wing if he was on the Jazz as of today.

Agree with NAOS. But you don't overspend (obviously). $4 million/year is where I'd get uneasy (how much of his production had to do with working under one of the greatest coaches of all time?).

That's the portion that would scare me to death. Obviously Green is a good shooter, but would he shoot 42% in a system that won't get him nearly as many easy looks? I doubt it highly and he'd probably come in and shoot in the mid-30's. At least if we got Green and his numbers drop off it'll make our system issues very obvious. Still worth the risk though at around 4 mil.

I think $4M is a ceiling.

But, let's not punish the guy for having a good pedigree. If we acquire him, I hope we try to make his role here very similar to what it was in SAS

Also, link?

All I saw was this from @tribjazz:

"Utah Jazz will initially go after wings during free agency and have MLE to spend. Two names that came up today: Danny Green, Roger Mason."

Nothing to suggest mutual interest. And as long as we're talking about Greens, I think we should consider Gerald.

I think Lou Williams and Nick Young might be able to fetch deals higher than the MLE.

I was a big advocate of pulling Gerald out of the D-League last year, but I'm not sure how much I'd pay him now. He definitely showed he is finally ready to be a NBA player now though. He's tempting.

Bellini is probably the guy that interests me the most as just a pure shooter off the bench.
