Most of those Bond movies are older ones, and I'm having a hard time remembering which is which.
I agree that the Roger Moore ones weren't serious because Roger Moore was barely a better actor than the average game show host. The Roger Moore movies are what inspired the Austin Powers satires. They were that bad. Still, "The Spy Who Loved Me" or "For Your Eyes Only" (one of those) was cool, since it had one of the best Bond girls and had the Lotus that turned into a submarine.
I agree that the Pierce Brosnan movies were corn. Anything with John Cleese as 'Q' can't really be taken seriously. One of the movies (with Denise Richards) ended with the line, "I thought Christmas only comes once a year...." No way can that stuff be taken seriously. It's more of a spoof on itself.
I liked Casino Royale, (although I'm referring to the modern remake), since the characters were intense and the movie was more drama than comic-book hero stuff. For that reason, I also like Quantum of Solace. I like most of Daniel Craig movies.
I can't keep straight what the plots of Thunderball, Dr. No and Goldfinger were, but they were Sean Connery movies and were all pretty good by Bond standards.
Octapussy had to be the all-time low. It cast a 2nd-tier tennis player and made a thinly veiled reference to some villain's harem of trained killer babes.
