Ric Bucher reporting Jazz have signed Randy Foye to a 1-year deal

Line-Up A)
My dream starting line-up for the Jazz:

Mo Williams
Hayward
Millsap
Favors
Jefferson
6th Man: Marvin Williams

Line-Up B)
What I think the actual starting line-up will be:
Mo Williams
Randy Foye
Marvin Williams
Millsap
Jefferson
6th Man: Hayward

I think line-up A gives Utah a chance to be a dangerous team in the West, possibly a 4/5 playoff seed. Line-up B makes them average, just about a 7/8 seed.

I doubt Foye was signed to be a starter.

I think the lineup will be:
Mo Williams
Hayward
Marvin Williams
Favors
Jefferson

Jazz already showed their willingness last season to start Favors over Millsap. Eother Millsap is signed to an extension, at which point he doesn;t need to worry about a 6th-man role affecting his next contract, or he and his uncle have angered the Jazz FO by demanding too much money. In that case, it makes sense to start your future franchise player, not a guy who likely leaves via free agency or who KOC will "Deron" at some point. Of course, to keep his Millsap's trade vlaue, I suppose the coaching staff could have a talk with Favors and tell him the situation will be resolved soon.

So he plays a lot better when he starts? Great.
We need role players who don't have to get their minutes or start to be effective.

I've never liked our 2 PG line ups, and this maybe just that. Even though he isn't a good 1, he can't guard a 2.
I'm not sure I see KOCs complete plan for all these guys. We did up the talent level on the roster, but sadly it's all
in the hands of Corbin. I don't trust him to hand out the minutes.

If Favors Started last year as a starter and finished as a starter. This leaves me to believe he will start to begin the year. I hope this is the case. Starters should be...

Mo
Hayward
Marvin
Favors
Al

I love the potential oh the bench being..

Foye, Tinsley
Burks, Foye
Carroll (can provide the hustle plays, and probably won't see many minutes with Millsap and Hayward being able to play the position as well).
Millsap
Kanter

Ty is going to have his hands full. I hope he doesn't screw this up.

Jazz are contenders!

Not quite but I'd like to see them move up in the standings and maybe get to the second round or push a team to 7 in the first. Time to take a step to the level right below true championship contender.

You guys noticing a trend with these signings? Every move KOC has made this offseason doubled as a huge improvement in both defense and 3 point shooting. Mo, Marvin, and Randy are all stellar defenders (Mo may be a reach, but he's an improvement over Harris), and each one shot near 40% from deep last year.

Also, we now have an incredibly flexible roster. Here's a list of positions and who on our team can, in theory, play that position:

PG: Mo, Earl, Tinsley, Foye (you could even put Hayward or Burks here in a bind)
SG: Hayward, Burks, Foye, Mo, Murphy
SF: Marvin, Hayward, Burks, Millsap, Evans
PF: Favors, Millsap, Evans, Marvin, Al, Enes
C: Al, Favors, Enes

Jazz can either go really big: Foye, Hayward, Millsap, Favors, Al (just one option for a big lineup), or they can go small and play fast: Mo, Burks, Hayward, Marvin (or Paul), Favors.

Throw in the fact that we have like 7 guys on the last year of their deal, and you have to give it up for KOC

Stellar defenders? Wuh?

I am excited to see the bigs get to work now that at any given time some combo of Hayward, Marvin Williams, Mo Williams and Foye will be stretching the floor. I want to watch Favors and Kanter get busy.

Edit: On a scale of 1-10 (10 being excellent) how do y'all feel the Jazz have addressed 3 pt shooting and stretching the floor? On defense?

I can't wait til this board has a hissy fit and people start whining over Harris' departure once they see how mediocre he is in transition and on defense...an area in which our team, minus Al, should flourish.

****'s gonna crack me up.

Mo is not necessarily an upgrade over Devin. It's pretty much a wash.

I like this move I guess.

But until the Jazz are rid of Al and have an even halfway decent PG to develop moving forward (not taking into consideration unlikely and unforeseen hugely positive moves), I will be hard to excite.

What's weird is that for all of Harris' speed, I didn't find him to be particularly good in transition.
