Does that worry ute fans? As far as depth at the qb position?
No.

Austin collie was runner up for the best wide reciever in college football his sr year, leads byu all time in receptions and yard i believe, and has played great in the nfl when healthy.
I assume you were just trolling though so nevermind.
No.

I'll address these in order.
Really? By who?, So he beat out guys like O'neal chambers? Ok, So some good preseason games? got it.
No duh.
By the way green, i dont think that langi ever started a single game and this year he would have played a little fullback maybe but we all know that john white is the star in that backfield.
He probably went on a mission cause he didn't want to lose a year of eligibility blocking for white..... he wanted to carry the ball and realized that was not likely to happen so he went on a mission.

LOL! A Ute fan lecturing on class. Classic!
And we all know you love nothing more than posting back-handed insults in BYU threads. It's your thing and you really don't do much else here. Sorry, Kid, it's true.
If you would have done your homework, you would know that Brian Johnson was pretty far along with plans to start Langi alongside White and utilize him in both the running and passing game. It was going to be a greatly expanded role for Langi, and it left Utah scrambling a little bit once he decided to go on his mission.
Considering just a few posts ago, you professed to know more about Utah than most Ute fans, I'm really suprised you didn't know that already.
He still was never a starter so for green to say he was a starter going on a mission is untrue.
Also it was green (a ute fan) who said that langi was going to play fullback (as opposed to tailback) and there is no way that he would have even gotten a third of the carries that white will get (white is too good).
Brian johnson was just doing what all coaches do during camp: talking up all his players to make the media and fans think that they are better/deeper than they really are.
Byu coaches do it too. I keep hearing about the 4th string wide reciever and how he is going to be contributing and playing a big role on byus team, when we all know hoffman, apo, and faslev are going to be getting all the catches.
"Harvey had a huge role in this offense. He was starting for us. Losing him, now you've got to replace a starter. Do I have a running
back that has the skill set of Harvey, out into space, running the routes? I don't know that yet. That's what we're looking for. If we
do, then we'll use him. But Harvey was a pretty special guy, being able to run routes and catch the ball."

Utah RB Coach Jay Hill on Langi's departure:
Whittingham and staff usually don't blow much smoke. If he wasn't a starter heading into this year, he wouldn't be being called a starter. Justify it how you like. I tend to believe the guys actually running the team.
Oh is see.
thats good then.
I thought i heard some utes on a radio call in show talking about how they couldn't wait till wynn gets hurts so hansen can come in, but maybe i remember it wrong and wilson was the one they were excited about.
Michael crabtree..... a dude that plays for the niners. Crabtree got the award for the best reciever and collie was runner up. ( even though collie had better stats.)
Rookie year in nfl: 60 receptions and 7 tds. Pretty good for any rookie.
His second year he was injured and only played in 9 games and had 58 receptions and 8 tds. (almost a touchdown per game) and he has been competing for targets with reggie wayne, pierre garcon, and dallas clark
Sorry to make you look foolish bud, but someone had to.
As for who he beat out for receptions and yards: byu has long been know for thier passing game, and i would bet that byu has a bunch of recievers with more yards and catches throughout thier carreer than the number one guy on the utes for receiving.
Bottom line is that Collie stopped living right and has clearly been punished for his sins.
When you PM'd me and told me you're actually a BYU fan that's just trolling, were you just messing with me? Are you a Ute or a Coug .. final answer?
I didn't believe other posters when they told me this but I guess it is true you are the new Salty. Congrats or something.Oh, it's obviously true. That's why there's a current Ute thread going in which you've surpassed double digit posts and you'd have to hunt back into the general discussion pages to find the last BYU thread I posted in.
Don't let facts get in the way of your arguments tough guy. You've never let that bother you before, so why start now?
Agreed. He's kind been a moron lately. Rough week at work I guess.Jazzman12 im not sure what has gotten into you. I usually always enjoy your take on things ute/coug football related because you are usually quite fair and honest in your assessments.
All this talk about Collie. I had to look him up and found this. Same guy?
