Screw the Utes, BSU will be a more fun rivalry anyways.

Reasoning:

1- They have blue turf
2- They have even more dillusional fans
3- They won't be mediocre for the next 10 years
4- The Idaho-Utah thing will pick up a lot of steam

Not saying that I don't want BYU-Utah to continue, I just feel like BYU holds all of the cards here. No September game, the game needs to be the last week of the season to mean something. If the rivalry doesn't continue for the Utes, then who will be their rivals? California? Oregon? Arizona? They've got one year to rub the BCS thing in BYU's face before the MWC gets the bid anyways.

Ahh how cute. Another butt hurt zoobie. Didn't you say the rivalry did not matter to BYU? Then why is it zoobie's spreading all the hate right now? That's right they got their feel bads hurt because they got 1 upped by their rival. Go ahead and enjoy your trips to laramie while were having fun in california and phoenix.

I think he was being sarcastic. Blue turf is good, excited about the Utah/Idaho thing, MWC being a BCS qualifier after a year, and wondering who Utah's rival will be: Cal or Oregon- as if it's a bad thing. Sarcasm right?

We have a winner. *******s.

The idea that someone needed to create a thread to either a) reiterate with sarcasm and undertones of jealousy that Utah moved to the Pac-10, or B) semi-attempt to argue that this is a "good" thing for BYU just shows how envious the Cougs have become.

The Utes have become that girl in high school who used to be fat, but recently lost a lot of weight and now has super-confidence because of it. They really still aren't that hot, but think they are hot stuff. BYU is the goody-goody girl who has always been cute, but doesn't have an ego the size of Jupiter. One of the better looking guys in school is now dating Utah because of her ego and sluttiness. Because Utah just lost a lot of weight and now has a hot boyfriend, she thinks that BYU is super jealous of her when in all reality BYU could care less.

So basically what i'm saying is that no matter what you guys think, I could care less what conference Utah is in. The MWC is going to have that auto-birth a year after Utah gets it. Who cares?

Aren't you putting a ton of faith in a BCS system that makes no bones about the fact that they really don't want to invite the MWC to the party? I know as a Ute fan, before the Pac 10 invite, I was nervous as hell in regards to whether or not the MWC would actually get an automatic bid in 2012. I guess you can just keep banking on something that may or may not ever actually happen- and for the record, I still hope the MWC gets an automatic bid.

Truth is, even if the MWC does get that auto bid, Utah will still have a better chance at going to a BCS bowl in any given season. You'll never see 2 MWC teams get a bid, but you will see two invited from the Pac 12 on a pretty regular basis. Not only that, it's not as if BYU is automatically BCS bound if MWC gets the auto bid. I think it's a pretty safe bet that TCU and Boise St would have quite a lot to say about that year in and year out.

Sounds like i'm not the one who is putting a lot of stock is something that will never happen- its you. The Pac-10 has been VERY bad the last couple of years and everybody knows it. Adding Colorado and Utah will help that you think? Good luck with that.

If a Pac-12 team goes undefeated, there's a reasonable chance that they'll be playing for the national title. That means that they wouldn't be playing in the Rose Bowl, so obviously the 2nd place Pac 10 would probably be the first team the Rose Bowl looked at.

While that may not happen every year, it's certainly a much more likely scenario than the MWC getting an automatic bid in the first place, let alone placing 2 Mountain West teams which we all know will never happen.

So who's putting stock in something that will never happen? There's actually case-history that proves my theory can actually happen, yet you're waiting for an invite that may never come. Grasp at straws much?
