Following potential 2013 draftees

Spoke with a scout today that was watching Alex yesterday. I asked him for a player comp (you guys I know HATE them, but asked anyway) and Alex got a pretty lofty comparison from this guy (who I respect a great deal). He said he is a more explosive Mashburn.

I'd take half that.

Mashburn was great before his injuries. He had a pretty complete game, well, minus passing the ball. He was a prototypical SF.

If that is where his career is headed then (like I have mentioned before several times), he would be a perfect fit for this youth movement.

PKM, how would you rank his maturity level? (For fun, you can use posters from this site as a comparison)

Let's hope that poythress is overshadowed by nerlens, harrow and Goodwin. He plays this uer more like Darius miles. He lets the other guys be stars he just does what has to be done.

Maturity is a 10+ .. 3.9GPA .. works like MKG.

I don't see him getting overshadowed much. If anything, he may be THE guy this year.

Harrow is pass-first
Goodwin is a relentless attacker (I would say a more polished Burks, at this stage)
Noel is raw offensively and a defensive stud
We have another 7 footer that's climbed to 19 on nbadraft.net - Willie Cauley-Stein. He played all-state football at wide receiver .. that should tell you something about his athleticism, mobility, and hands.

You could say the same thing about MKG, and he went #2. I'm hopeful he falls to us, though.

Take this how you will, but Calipari didn't offer Ledo a scholarship after his due-diligence. Ledo was being called lazy by a coach or two, a bad teammate by a more than couple guys he'd played with .. and just as overall questionable attitude. I've heard nothing new on him to know anything additional .. and that stuff was more than a year ago.

Interesting about being a bad teammate, cause I've read multiple times that he's a great passer. Ford even has him listed as a PG (not that I agree with that).

My stuff came from within the UK program .. but here's something publicly written.

You see, Ledo has all the telltale red flags that come with a high-risk, high-reward recruit. He's already been to four different high schools in four years and still does not have a high school diploma. This is also the second time that Ledo has been committed to the Friars, as he also gave a pledge to Keno Davis. Ledo has an attitude problem, he's generally not considered a good teammate and he lost 10 of his first 11 games on the AAU circuit this summer, something that simply shouldn't happen when you are a top level high school player.

Not what I wanted to hear. Is there another Dion Waiters or Tristan Thompson that the Cavs can draft too high?

I don't particularly like NBAdraft.net rankings, but I thought I would share with everyone what they have for the Jazz right now.

With the #8 pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, the Utah Jazz select Otto Porter of Georgetown (6'8" to 6'9" depending where you look and 205 lbs SF)

Not the best video. Please add others if you can find them.

With the #18 pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, the Utah Jazz select CJ Leslie of NC State (6'9" 200 lbs SF/PF)

A personal favorite of mine, just ask PKM (yes, we know, he has not had the right coach or the right system)

Actually, looks like you don't need to ask PKM. :)
