Ah yes because the "left-wingers" (or, the average person, who Willard seems to be targeting here--Republicans are a do-as-we-say-not-as-we-do thing when it comes to taking government money) are, in right-wing fantasy land, the “economic drain” of this great country. It is the teachers, cops, firefighters, steelworkers, retailers, and so on who crashed the economy in the first place, how could I forget? The magnificent creators who built it all themselves with only their god given ingenuity and dad's wallet, they the really oppressed. If only government would get out of the way and stop thwarting your success! I don't get it. This is a country that is so nepotistic it has actually shoved its head up its own ******* and is calling crap achievement. This is a borderline oligarchy, wherein the oligarchs are using the angst of middle-class whites to demonize any objection.
The American Dream is still alive, but it has been muted. I don't know how we can sit here and ignore a long-shrinking middle class. How long can we pretend that trickledown economics= anything but a scam?
Does the right actually believe its own BS? Do they believe Randian, laissez-faire policy is what = a growing bustling economy and opportunity for all who are simply willing to work for it? Do you believe that I just don’t work as hard as you?—excusing the fact that you, nor Willard, know anything about me and how much money I have taken (or haven’t taken) from the government.
Or is this a flawed, thinly-veiled moral crusade for the right? Jihadists who demand what they see as purity?
And I don't get the Al Gore thing. I don't think I've ever stayed awake through a whole Al Gore speech.
