Assistant Coach Sloan and Rookie John Stockton 1985

Stockton looks and sounds really like... well the best I can put it is. 'Gee wiz Mr. Hundley, we won three in a row. Wowzers!'

The interesting thing was in Griff's highlight Stock was still delivering the ball exactly on time.

....they could jump just as high and were just as quick back then as they are today, right, hop?!!!

Damn straight, CJ! I remember one time when lil ole Spud Webb, all 5' 6" of him, took the ball at the free throw line, took one dribble, jumped up and glided toward the basket with the ball cocked over his head, and dunked over, I and I does mean literally OVER, Jabbar. That ROCKED!

...nobody jumped any higher than David Thompson, hey? He was reported to be thinking of putting the basketball in a cradle position over the rim....and then pounding it through with his other hand! To do that you have to jump real high and hang a long time! Spud's dunk contest victory WAS the best ever! Second place has to go to Brent Barry! Of course, I'm partial to a white guy that caused a whole race of people to have ANOTHER million man march!
