It's sad how many kids think weed does nothing to them and a lot of that comes from ignorant adults telling them that. Hey, if you wanna smoke weed then be my guest but at least have accountability about what you are doing to your body. Every other drug used out there doesn't seem to have the denial-based culture that weed does. Crackheads, drunks, smokers, etc. all seem to at least recognize that it's bad for you. Potheads? Geez, not only do they live in denial of the harm but they even try to say it's good for you.

I'm very pro-legalization, but I agree with CONAN 100%. Both sides need to admit what pot really is. Pot can be very damaging to a person, especially if that person needs to have a good deal of ambition to accomplish their goals. If you're already set, fine. Smoke your brains out when you get home from work and watch silly **** on TV. But for those up-and-comers out there, you should avoid pot like the plague. It can completely kill your dreams.

I think prohibition causes many very serious, I'd even go so far as to say horrific, problems. What I'm talking about though is how seriously pot can kill motivation and ambition. It's mostly an invisible problem because what does someone look like when they're 60% (number pulled out of my ***) less motivated? It isn't like they stop taking showers or anything. They just aren't as driven. Maybe that doesn't seem like a big deal, but ask the 30 something looser who could have been a doctor or engineer if they had worked at it just a little bit harder. Instead, they got high and watched the years slip by.

Here's a wild and crazy idea, how about people take personal responsibility for making their dreams come true? Instead of blaming the jails which hold them after they're caught with drugs, instead of blaming the President, instead of blaming teachers, instead of blaming Lebron, HOW ABOUT THEY MAKE THEIR OWN DREAMS COME TRUE WITH THEIR OWN BLOOD AND SWEAT?

I used to feel that way, totally. However, if the government is going to mandate that all health issues (as well as those too lazy to get a job) are now the responsibility of the earners (like neve before), I suddenly am pro laws that prohibit stupidity.

I used to be mad about seatbelts, helmets, etc ... But these things are becoming my problem..

Obamacare just requires that everyone get their own health insurance. It doesn't provide it for them. (most dems, myself included, wish it did provide health care, like the same plan members of congress get)

I don't want to derail this thread. I'm not talking about "Obamacare" (hate that loaded word). I'm talking about the only system that will actually make any difference, single payer. Once Obamacare fails to accomplish anything we'll probably start looking at our options again and I imagine single payer will be the push.
