Free Alec Burks

I guess you didn't watch the video I posted, empirical evidience of Westbrooks superior athletic ability. As for your last point, I would love nothing more than that, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I think if burks developed his ball handling skills to be on par with westbrooks his highlight mix would look very similar. I maintain thinking he is similar athletically, he just needs more development than Westbrook, who needed some development himself.

I try my hardest to think of you as a real poster and not trolling in every single post.

I really don't know what your definition of a "real poster" is, as I post things and weigh in on subjects when I have time to do it.
As far as trolling goes.... like I said, I weigh in on subjects when I have time.
So if that's trolling, then whatever.

I actually just watched that video, and I see what you're saying.
So I'll take a step back a bit, and agree with maybe Westbrooks superior athletic ability if we're talking about playing above the rim.
Westbrook doesn't quite have the intangibles that Burks has though, and I certainly stand by that.

What exactly are Burks intangibles? Getting to the free throw line? That seems to be the main one, while it is an awesome skill to have and is very effective it in and of itself does not make a player a star. It makes him very useful though.

Where's the empirical evidence?

I'm starting to think I should have said 100 pages by the All-Star break.

Change your settings to make it 1 post per page, we will be there in no time.

To the whiners -->>By the way, quit whining about Burks minutes already.

Start the crying after 10 games if he still averages 2 mpg, and even then keep it to a minimum because you are getting on my nerves and it's taking away from my love of other players on the team.

Westbrook came out of the gate dominating people physically, now the other aspects of his game are catching up. Burks is just not as explosive, not even close. He is a lot smoother though, I'll give him that.

A lot of you guys continue to overlook the real problem here.

Let's step away from the Foye vs Burks mentality for a minute.

Does anyone here think Tinsley is a better player than either Burks or Foye?

Play either Foye or Burks at backup pg, play the other at backup sg.

Problem solved.

Agreed, also Foye is a good playerm not a star but he is a good shooter, a functional backup PG, he hasn't done anything to not deserve minutes so you can't really bench him because eventually Burks will probably be better. If Burks wants to play he will work hard and get better, then he will play. Its not a conspiracy.

Burks outplayed the **** out of Foye in pre-season. I've seen nothing out of Foye before or currently that means he automatically gets the nod over Burks taking pre-season out of the equation.

Well, Tinsley is actually a point guard. For starters.

Westbrook is better because he gets to see the court during a game. It really helps in development see Enes Kanter.

Him playing may help him and hurt the team though, thats what some posters don't get. The Jazz are a really good team who need to play the best current option, not the one who might get better. Thats what practice is for.

He was a consistent valuble contributor on a very good clippers team last year. Thats mroe than Burks can say, he was a contributor but not a consistent one.

It won't hurt the team if Corbin keeps the reigns on him. If the kid is playing well, keep him on the floor. If he's making a lot of bad decisions, then pull him and let him know what he's doing wrong.
Case closed, sounds pretty simple.

This is correct

Then Favors should not get to see the court he isn't even close to be developed. And Hayward starting he isn't the clear best 3 on the team. But, they are getting minutes to help them develop.

I think a backup backcourt lacking a true PG but overall being more talented wouldn't be the worst thing. Certainly not crippling

I don't disagree with this. But I doubt Foye will be cool with just playing when Alec is struggling. There is a lot more that goes into this than what we know.
