What's new

#49 Seattle Kings @ Utah Jazz Monday 7pm

Glad to see Favors continue to produce. He's going to be incredible at 35 minutes a game. Get ready for double doubles with a block or two every night.

Burks showed that at the very least he can play positively! He was really good tonight, even if long-term there is no way he's a PG. Showed a much better understanding of not taking too many shots but playing within himself and the offense. Easily his best career game.

According to lunatic wolf, if we were to give favors 35 minutes a game then would surely just become less efficient

As good as most of the stats looked we shouldn't have been in OT against this team. Right on about Al....his usual inefficient self.

My Point was if not for the rapid fire turnover display we win in regulation, not to mention, when was the last time we beat the kings soundly. The Kings always play us tight.

Could one person please tweet out that Ty Corbin was correct to go back to Jefferson and Millsap with Jazz trailing 77-71 - closed 27-14

I dont tweet or I would mention that people are tired of being fed lines. Even if everyone is wrong and Favors/Kanter don't work the fans want to see it.

Dipship pointed out correctly in another thread that when Jeffy came back into the game, he finished 1 for 5 and that millsap, foye, and burks are why we closed out this game..... basically we won despite jeffy being in at the end.

This. Al was horrible to close the game out while Foye, Burks, Millsap made some clutch plays. Al was not his usual clutch self at the end of a ball game. For god sakes! He was being guarded by the 6-6 Hays, and I know he has a rep for being a tough defender, but Al is one of the top players in the post, and couldn't even get to the rim, Instead he resorted back to that god awful 7 foot push shot that drops maybe 3 of every 10 times.

Hayes is one of the few guys you don't want to try and back down because of his low center of gravity. A simple push shot would have been Al's best bet, since Hayes couldn't bother it in the least.

Ok let's say for arguments sake that Favors only shoots 45% from the field if you scale up his minutes and attempts. He's still EASILY better than Al, who does the same damn thing with zero defense...

Were he able to get position I would agree but Hayes was able to push Al way off the block (and Al isn't able to get deep position and get the defender on his back) so he was forced to shoot contested face-up jumpers because Hayes also has the quickness to body-up on Al. I saw atleast 2 occassions where Al was able to get deeper but when he tried to turn middle Hayes (much like Duncan in last year's playoffs) overplayed him on his left-shoulder and forced him to turn toward the baseline but Al was too far beneath the basket to get a shot off.

The best bet for Utah would have been to recognize Al's game was not conducive to scoring on the low block against Chuck Hayes and run more screen-roll or flex-offense instead.

So NBA is calling out the stars to boost attendance....

The Fresh Prince, Will Smith, was at a game in Philly, where he was born and raised.

The Jazz got a visit from Carlton.

Nice to see that even though Burks started off a bit rough, that when he gets his minutes and is part of the game he not only contributes but excels for us..

Where's the burks haters now??

The only problem is the jazz bigs don't know how to set screens. The defenders don't even have to fight through anything or go around, he's free to stay between his man and the basket. So at this point until Ty decides to address the poor screen setting that offense is not an option.

If Corbin drew up the Al for Threeeeeeee...oops Play he should be fired.
I'm sure the play was Al iso on the block. Where is the option 'b' when Al can't get position like has happened the last umpteen times down the floor? We spent 16 seconds with Al and Foye back and forth trying to get Al position right where the ball was in-bounded. Truly a disgrace to everything that Jazz Basketball stands for.

Fortunately the Jazz did not further the definition of insanity in OT and pulled it out.

Once again the bench bails out the starters. It's amazing Ty sticks with this same awful starting lineup, but then again, they're vets.

Just bitting their time until he makes another mistake so they can bash him on here again. Their act is old.
First it was he can't play defense, he can't shoot, or he dribbles too much. Look the kid is learning with limited minutes.
He's got much more natural ability than a lot of the roster. All we've wanted is for him to be given a chance to see what
we really have. That was never going to happen with limited minutes.

I heard Alfonso hit Paul up for a 10 spot right after this picture was taken

The disease must go. It spreads all over the floor when he's in, offense and defense. No movement, little effort.

But having an average, or even slightly below average point guard would maybe help even more.
