Stifle Tower
Punch Bowl Re-Filler
Well, Steve Young. But he had an excuse. He played behind an absolutely horrible O-line in Tampa and was forced to run for his life every game.I tried to find an article I read recently about quarterbacks who toiled in futility for the first 5 or 6 years of their careers, then broke out in a big way. Most of the examples they cited were from the late 70's and early 80's (if anyone knows what I'm talking about, and can provide a link, that would be swell...) I'm not saying that Alex is necessarily in that boat, but I'm hoping. Perhaps it is just homerish optimism.
Niners taking Smith over Aaron Rodgers...perhaps the 2nd worst draft decision in pro sports (second only to Bowie over Jordan)?
