For the first time in years...

For the first time in years, we were finally enjoyable to watch. For the first time in years, we finally played good hard defense. For the first time in years, we finally ran an offense and actually shared the ball around. For the first time in years, we pounded another team inside. For the first time in years, since Dwill, Memo, and Booz, we actually looked pretty damn good.

We started off on the right foot, didn't have too big of a lull in the 3rd, and finished them off at the end.

Look at how much (better) our offense looks! Even without a PG, it's soooooooooooooo much crisper and better without Big Al blogging it down. Look at how much faster we get into our sets and pass the ball. For the first time in years, guys were actually cutting to the basket and getting the ball. The defensive effort was incredible! I loved how we dominated the boards and finally actually pissed off the other team by just kicking their asses inside. It's no secret how Kanter gets to the FT line more in one half than Big Al does in weeks. He's physical! Whooooaaaa, a "low post threat" actually playing physical? Earth shattering!

I just have a few points:

#1 After tonight's performance, how can Corbin justify not playing Kanter more?
#2 How much longer does Marvin have? Dude sucks. Carroll? He's the new Wes Matthews. Play him 20+ mins
#3 How much better would our franchise be right now had we started off the year with our bench starting and our starters benched? Seriously, is there another coach in this league who would keep starting Big Al, Millsap, Marvin, Foye, and Tins/Earl ahead of our bench? They're clearly better in every aspect.
#4 Kanter/Favors are easily a top 5 frontcourt in the league right now. Give them another year (or had they had this year together) they'll be #1.
#4 Tonight demonstrated why so many of us wanted to see a trade or two. Our guys are rdy. We just need a ****ing pg. Put Dwill on this team and you have a team that can take down anyone in a 7 game series, especially Miami. This team is so much more talented than the 07 team which made it to the WCF it isn't even funny.

foye marvin and watson led the way.
if not for them the young guys would not have played great.
so yeah the vets need to be starting

It's almost unbearably agonizing being a Jazz fan right now. My God, if only they fired Corbin and got rid of Al Jefferson...

Though I am extremely excited about what I saw last night, it was the Bobcats. But we did play great defense.

The same bobcat team who we could only beat by 10 on jan 9?

With big al, the bobcats were competitive against us. With our youngins, they were blown out.

With the type of defense, physical play, and ball movement on offense, travisties like Sacramento, New Orleans, and a 40+ beat down by Houston doesn't happen.

The simple fact is that our bench is clearly better than our starters. Clearly. Kanter and favors? Better than big al and Millsap. Dmc vs m Williams? Hhaha. Foye vs Hayward or burks? Not even close. Tins/earl vs burks? Lol

I realize it's Charlotte. I just wish Kanter got more opportunities to play 30 mins+. The encouraging sign was that this isn't the first time he put up 1 rebound and 1 point every minute or two of playing time. It was nice to see that he could do that throughout an entire game though.

The thing we all want to see is what he can produce from one game to another, or during a road game against a quality team. By no means do I think he'll put up the same numbers every game, but I'd like to see whether he can keep the constant energy from one game to another for 30 mins+ and rebound 10+ and put up 14+. It's frustrating that we probably still won't have a chance to find out this season.

Even though it was just the bobcats... We held them To a season low in the first quarter and the first half and Enes on his own nearly out rebounded their whole team!!!

1: More yes, starting, not yet
2: just because he isn't putting up loads of points doesn't mean that he is a bad player, I believe that he runs the offence well and defends. It's the offence having him the third or so option that keeps him from scoring.
3: Starting off this year the two towers weren't as good as they are now. It needs to happen now, but probably won't
4: If Kanter can polish his game and Favors can stop fouling out of frustration and learn some more footwork, you might be right.
5: (5? or is it 4#2?) having DWill means no Favors, No Kanter, No Marvin. You can't have your cake and eat it to, and you can't keep both sides of a trade. How we do going forward all depends on Mo Williams and how well he becomes a passing point guard. If he's a ball hog, bad news. If he throws the ball to Al exclusively, bad news. If he distributes it evenly, we just might have something because we aint getting squat from EarSley.

as far as your excuse for marvin in #2, demarre carroll is usually the 3rd or 4th option when he is in the game and demarre still manages to get his points.... so what is marvins excuse now? (that he plays with al is a pretty good one as all issues seem to lead back to jeffy)

....if your referring to the Bobcats game, PLEASE! We beat possibly the worst team in the league on our home court.....and if having 23 assists and 22 turnovers is a "watchable" game to you then put a bag over your head the next time they take the court! Yes, Kanter had a very nice game......but we are still so far from Jazz basketball that its not even funny.
