For the first time in years, we were finally enjoyable to watch. For the first time in years, we finally played good hard defense. For the first time in years, we finally ran an offense and actually shared the ball around. For the first time in years, we pounded another team inside. For the first time in years, since Dwill, Memo, and Booz, we actually looked pretty damn good.
We started off on the right foot, didn't have too big of a lull in the 3rd, and finished them off at the end.
Look at how much (better) our offense looks! Even without a PG, it's soooooooooooooo much crisper and better without Big Al blogging it down. Look at how much faster we get into our sets and pass the ball. For the first time in years, guys were actually cutting to the basket and getting the ball. The defensive effort was incredible! I loved how we dominated the boards and finally actually pissed off the other team by just kicking their asses inside. It's no secret how Kanter gets to the FT line more in one half than Big Al does in weeks. He's physical! Whooooaaaa, a "low post threat" actually playing physical? Earth shattering!
I just have a few points:
#1 After tonight's performance, how can Corbin justify not playing Kanter more?
#2 How much longer does Marvin have? Dude sucks. Carroll? He's the new Wes Matthews. Play him 20+ mins
#3 How much better would our franchise be right now had we started off the year with our bench starting and our starters benched? Seriously, is there another coach in this league who would keep starting Big Al, Millsap, Marvin, Foye, and Tins/Earl ahead of our bench? They're clearly better in every aspect.
#4 Kanter/Favors are easily a top 5 frontcourt in the league right now. Give them another year (or had they had this year together) they'll be #1.
#4 Tonight demonstrated why so many of us wanted to see a trade or two. Our guys are rdy. We just need a ****ing pg. Put Dwill on this team and you have a team that can take down anyone in a 7 game series, especially Miami. This team is so much more talented than the 07 team which made it to the WCF it isn't even funny.
