What will absolve the FO in your eyes?

Ok, let's lay out the facts:

While the Jazz currently are in a playoff position, the odds of them holding this position is looking less and less likely as time goes on, for a variety of reasons (schedule, surging Lakers, downward spiral).

If the Jazz miss the playoffs, it cannot be argued that the Jazz did not make a horrendous mistake by not trading away Millsap, Jefferson or both. I guess we can consider arguments against this but I imagine they would be hard to truly sufficiently support.

Kanter, Burks and Favors are all surging in their development. Their production is only going up with more minutes, they show no sign of backing down, and bad games are becoming more the exception than the expected. By not trading Millsap or Jefferson in the pursuit of a playoff spot and coming up short, and a coach who seems reluctant to play these young guys in lieu of the vets we are unarguably wasting valuable development minutes on behalf what amounts to essentially failed mercenary type players.

So, *assuming* we miss the playoffs, what can the FO do in your eyes to make up for this?

One thing the FO has going for them is, well, they drafted (or traded for) the C4. So as much as we hate the position our team has been put in we would not have this frustration if we had not drafted (or traded) for legitimately talented and capable young players.

To me, the FO would need to a) admit that they screwed up, b) put Corbin on the hot seat (knowing the Jazz's conservatism I would be satisfied with a slightly warm but steadily warming seat), c) resign neither Paul nor Al, d) Commit fully to Kanter, Favors and Burks as the starters going in to next year.

I wish we could amnesty Marv.

Some things that come to mind are:

Let Big Al walk or do a S&T at most.
Resign Sap to a reasonable sum without overpaying.
Let Watson Walk
Resign Tinsley with the intention of him being the 3rd string PG
Use the large amount of cap space to pry loose some good lottery picks in 2014 (from what I hear it is loaded. That correct?) or get a very good SF.
Resign Carroll

I have no faith in the Jazz management. Im sure they'll find a way to screw up next year too.

The irony here is that we would be a better team if we played the young guys more. The Jazz just can't get out of their own way.

I would see hope and be happy if we fired Corbin and let Al, Mo, Sap, Watson, Tinsley all walk. But they won't. Al or Millsap will be back. Corbin will be back, in fact he'll be here a long time.. Mo will be back. And we will have more frustrating days ahead next year watching Mo take Burks munutes and Al or Paul starting over Kanter or Favors. We will be screaming at our tv's for yet another year. I just dont think the Jazz get it. I think they over think things way too much and just hurt themselves. I don't think the frustration ever ends until there are sweeping changes. Other wise we will be only mediocre forever.

Im pretty confident that will all comes true. And Im sure 9/10 people on Jazzfanz think that is crazy, but time will prove me right. I just dont think a tiger changes its stripes. The Jazz will forever be half good, half retarded.

I have no faith in Corbin but I am not so down on KOC and Lindsey. They did brign us Kanter, Favors, Hayward and Burks after all. Are they perfect? Hell no but they are not total screw ups either.

What about Hayward?

FO has 2 big boners on their hands right now (phrasing!):

1) Not trading vets at deadline
2) Marvin Williams trade

one could also argue 3) Corbin, but that is controversial to some and we don't need to add it to drive home the point.

FO has equity built up with getting us these young players, but how they handle this situation from this point forward is soo crucial, and I admittedly am a little worried.

I figure as long as they go into this offseason with some kind of a plan that actually makes sense (read: no Al) I will maintain my faith in the FO.

Like I said. Half good. Half retarded.

I have faith in KOC's drafting ability. But not trading, hiring a coach, or building a team. A savvy GM would have canned Corbin already.

Its great that we have those guys, but we play complete scrubs over them. Makes no sense at all. I have to wonder if KOC just has good talent scouts for the draft and just gets lucky, but still doesn't understand talent himself. Because nothing else he does makes any sense.

1. That depends on what other teams were offering. Did those teams want one of The Four? We will never know so that is hard to judge.
2. Harris was clearly not the answer so i do not fault them there.
3. I agree that Corbin was a mistake. I did not always think so but I will admit that I was wrong.

So in short I am not entirely trustful of the FO that they will get it right but I am not consigned to them screweing it up. I am holding my breath lol.

I think the DWill trade was fantastic. I do not fault them on the Marvin trade. Good drafts. I am very cautiosly optimistic that they will improve the roster. I have no hope they will imrpove the coaching.

It is interesting that once sloan resigned, they asked Phil Johnson to coach and then he said he was resigning so they just went down the list and asked Corbin to coach. It doesn't seem like KOC thinks coachign is all that important, or i guess it is much more likely to say that KOC believes or believed that Corbin was truly head coaching material. Does anyone think Scott Layden would have been a better choice?

Jazz are just trying to make Corbin "work". Kinda like how Corbin has just been trying to make Marvin "work". Like maybe if we just think hard enough that everything is great then it will be.... close your eyes, plug your ears and go lalalalalalalala

Scott Skiles, no. SVG, maybe. I like Stan but I am worried he is too media-whorey for a head coach... I don't like that

Yeah I don't know, Favors gonna get like 13 a year right? and Hayward like 11 a year? Bigmen are overpaid as **** (still), remember. Of course these are entirely just guesses based on nothing
