Gamethread: jazz in Cleveland playing "just one game" at 17:00

I'm strangely ok with this. I don't think Corbin is bold enough, or bright enough to make this move on his own. It wouldn't surprise me if playing Marvin at the 4 was a direct order from K O'Lindsey. Have to see if Marvin can be the 3rd big for next season: a stretch 4. What this MIGHT mean is the Jazz have soured on Paul; they just don't think Millsap is going to be worth what he'll be asking for. I don't think Marvin is the answer, but neither are Paul or Al. Perhaps Utah gives up their second-rounder, or even the GS pick for someone to take Marvin off our hands...if they can find a solid big or SF in free agency (maybe even both for close to what Marvin is set to make).
Why would the Jazz - who at the moment will be hard-pressed to find 90% of the cap to spend on deserving players - burn assets to get rid of salary? It's not happening.

I appreciate the effort in trying to find any conceivable reason Williams was taking minutes from Kanter, but one hasn't come up that makes any sense yet.

The sentiment is always that Corbin should have done something different.

I think Foye being out there was the biggest liability. When that lead cut down to 5 or 6 Corbin should have called a timeout and made a defensive substitution to protect what lead the team had left. He should've brought Burks back in, in place of Foye. That's just my opinion, though, but I'm sure the likes of Greg Popovich would agree with me.

What a gut wrenching loss.

Honestly, as much as I hate Ty I thought his sub patterns were pretty good, other than a few nit picky things like playing Marv and taking Kanter out.

foye playing 30+ minutes?
you okay witht hat.
marvin at 4.
this game was lost by 3 points.
so nitpicking may have won us the game.

this game was still hella exciting

I have loved Millsap and he has been a huge reason why the team hasn't completely fallen apart.

With that being said, he is not worth the money he will demand next season and beyond. Jefferson needs to be gone too. I agree with others that have mentioned Landry or Hickson. Someone of that caliber is perfect alongside Favors/Kanter.

I wasn't able to watch the game due to work, sounds like it was kinda exciting but super frustrating...not trying to egg anyone on here, but what was the biggest mistake the Jazz made besides the missed layup by Mo?

Putting Foye on Irving late in the game killed us.

Probably this.

Also hayward had a really bad turnover right at the end of the game.

Landry, hickson, or even the guy we faced last night.... Mo Speights.

Marvin Williams 14 minutes of nothingness....ahem, *clears throat*.....again.
This is why I call him Starvin Marvin

This.

They were forcing Hayward to bring the ball up the last 5 minutes or so and on that last one they really pressured him. Sometimes he has a tendency to get out of control. This is what happened. Instead of slowing it down he kept right on going till he dribbled right into the teeth of the defense and lost control of the ball. Very stupid mistake.

Yes it was a bad error. However I am glad he is learning that this season as I have said earlier.

Maybe add thompson from sacramento and maxiell from detroit. (though i dont know how cheap those guys would be or if they would even be available.)
