Neither Denver or New Jersey can take back that much salary, like somebody else posted. We absolutely HAVE to be getting somebody else.

Can someone tell me how the Jazz are saving significant money if they're tied to another year of this lazy french ****'s contract (for a total that is technically more than what the Jazz are slated to pay AK)? I'd rather have AK this year and his Bird Rights than try to fathom paying $18 million for the next TWO years to the fattest players on the team.

The only way this could be swallowable is if the Jazz get a 1st rounder as well. And even still it'd be a ****-move.

We'd better hope Carmello bitches out of the extension talkes. God damn it.

Actually, the Jazz would be paying closer to $20 million per year for a guy that might be toast and a 4 we don't need who is never in very good shape. Awesome.

If the Jazz can somehow swap Memo instead, then great. The Jazz for all of their financial wisdom don't seem to understand that they shouldn't be trading their massive expiring (and one of their best talents) for a contract that has another year and comes out as more than what AK is owed.

This makes no ****ing sense. This is way lamer and ******** than the Maynor dump.
 
I like this trade actually. Yes we lose one of our best defenders, but AK is far from a shutdown defender. He has the ability to impact games and win them, but he does that what, 5 times a year? Diaw is going to greatly improve our offense from AK. I wish we could keep AK, because I love him as a player when he is on, but he isnt hardly ever on, and he is hardly healthy.

This is why I like this trade. Diaw is going to replace all of the "little things" that AK supposedly does to help us win, plus the kid actually has some heart.

68.5 :) but he is also a year older (more mileage also) and he missed a large amount of games in the past 5 years. He played a lot in his first 3 years but take those out and Diaw is way more durable. Especially lately.

If this is true than why would we rather have Q-Ross instead of Hayes? Hayes could back up Bell? What do we want with Ross? He is a good defender but he has no outside shot.
 
First Bell. Now maybe Diaw. If I hear they're trying to trade for Barbosa, I'm gonna be pissed.








Nash would be a good upgrade over Ronnie Price, though. Maybe even Earl Watson.

If we do this trade, we definitely need more than Diaw. Otherwise, it's just another stupid salary dump, like we did with Maynor, which definitely hurt our team and forced us to look for a back-up PG. Not sure what besides a first-rounder, because I haven't looked at the rosters of the other teams.

I think the deal would get us under the LT threshold for this season, so we wouldn't have to pay dollar for dollar to the league for every dollar we are over. I could be wrong on this, as I don't know the actual numbers. We also wouldn't miss out on the LT revenue that we would get as a result of being under the LT. That is a big money saver for the Jazz. Plus, they get a player they have always coveted, who doesn't miss such large chunks of the season due to injury, and it frees up more PT for CJ and Hayward.

I'm not totally in favor of this, as I don't want AK OR Favors going to Denver, but I don't think this deal is crap by any means - especially if we can get a pick out of it.
 
Could be worse. But I'm hoping we get SOMETHING else for making the Carmello swap workable - a draft pick, perhaps?
 
When was a last time a team began the next year with an entirely new front court? This should work out well. Can't wait for Elgin O'Conner spin this one?
