Time to alter your sig, Greg. The FO have made a decision you don't like whether it falls apart or not. I think it's going to happen, though.
 
FO? You mean empty pockets Miller made the decision. If anyone can justify this as a purely basketball decision, they better go back to the Church League.
 
If Deron only played 28 mins a game I'm sure he would demand a trade. The least he plays this year is probably 35 min even with a pretty good back up in Watson
 
Not a great trade, but it saves the Jazz money and they don't simply lose AK. Not bad, besides lets me honest all the money the Jazz save they will throw at Deron in the very near future. Deron is the Utah Jazz and that is all that matters to the FO, the Millers and many other people.
 
Who cares about simply losing AK? It's not like we lose this amazing talent with nothing in return. We get a ton of cap flexibility when he's gone so I'd rather have that than another mediocre player at 9 mil per who I doubt works in this system. He's too lazy to work in a Sloan system. I hope to hell he could prove us wrong, but he was a product of the Steve Nash system and hasn't proven anything else so far. I understood moving Maynor and Brewer to save money, but moving someone like AK is a slap in the face to the fans. Anyone who believes this makes us better (and I did see a couple comments about that) is completely delusional.

But when you know someone isn't going to stick around, why not try to get soemthing in return? In the Jazz' case, KOC and Greg have probably decided they don't want to offer AK a contract next year. Getting Diaw means they've cut their salary/tax liability for this year by $16M+ and they'll also have an expiring next season. I wish they could get more, but Diaw's a decent player. At least it's not like the Hapring dump when they had to GIVE UP another asset.

LeBron's influence on the entire league started long before he decided to "take his talents to South Beach". He and his group of advisors practically ran the Cavs organization and got virtually whatever they wanted. Then he left them high and dry so could go join his buddies. Why else do you think the Cavs owner was so violently mad at LeBron after he left? I read a Yahoo article awhile back and realized how bad it really was.

LeBron is friends with both CP3 and Melo. Coincidence that both of them wanted out this off-season? Not a chance. CP3 actually has officially joined LeBron's marketing firm if I recall correctly, right in the midst of all of his hoopla this summer. Not only did they ask for trades, they had the audacity to give them the list of teams they can trade them to, as if they are running the franchise. It worked out for LeBron, why wouldn't they try do it? They can just threaten to leave and get everything they want. Just like LeBron. Melo's agents are the one that pushed for this deal specifically. Bigger contract for the player means bigger cut for them, especially in moving to a bigger market (like what Melo is getting and what CP3 wants). It pretty disturbing how much the league is run by star players and agents. They've manipulated the whole system and it's only going to get worse. But that's the way it has become and it's going to become a regular nightmare for front-offices.

Anyone else realize that AK was the last player on the team in Stockalone's last season?

Made me feel old.

Your actually very wrong about him being a product of Steve Nash. He was actually playing better with the bobacts than he was with the Suns. Look up his stats. And I have watched a lot of Bobcat basketball. They were one of the few teams from the east who set picks for each other and actually ran an offense. He was key for them in terms of keeping ball movement going and setting screens (one of the best at setting screens). He can easily fit into our offense.

But I will have to say that I don't see how we have playing time for him. Unless he can get down to about 220-225. Which is possible but its going to take him a ton of work. i bet he is around 250 right now.
He needs to lose a ton of weight to play minutes at the 3 position. But in recent years he hasn't been asked to play the 3. But the Jazz would have to ask that of him to make this trade worth it. He can only play the 4 right now unless there is a slow 3 that he has to guard.
 
Bell and Diaw were teammates for a couple seasons in Phoenix weren't they? Then even with the Bobcats? Probably a ridiculous conspiracy theory but I wonder if he's been consulting in any o' this.

This deal goes through and my sig will change. There is nothing showing that they have decided yet. Please god don't let it happen.
