Following potential 2013 draftees

boredom at church got me to put together this scenario

draft schöder, wolters, Carmichael
sign jarrett jack 3 yrs 18 mil
sign oj Mayo 3 yrs 26 mil
trade burks for granger and a pick or something (salary dump for indiana. 1 year contract to try out that knee)
bring over tomic 2 yrs 9 mil 3rd year team option
sign cole Aldrich vet min

jack, schröder, wolters
mayo, Hayward
granger, Carroll
kanter, Carmichael, Evans
favors, tomic, Aldrich

- no killer contracts
- wolters would back up if schröder not ready yet.
- 3 man rotation with Hayward, mayo and granger
- granges defense makes up for mayos
- 3 man rotation with favors tomic kanter. all compliment each other very well
- shooting with jack, granger and mayo
- defense specialist with grander, Carroll, schröder, favors and Carmichael
- enforcer with Carmichael
- it is a well rounded team.

Having a PG that can dunk is easily in the top-5 least important abilities you need on your roster. Easily.

What makes Nate Wolters a NBA rotation PG?

He isn't a particularly amazing shooter, or passer, or athlete, or defender, or anything.

He will probably be like Ben Hansborough.

Enough with the Jarret Jack talk already. We can just keep Mo if we want a guard who dominates the ball and shoots too much.

Except Jarret Jack can get to the line and not get injured for considerable stretches of every season.

I'm not in love with the idea, either. I'd rather give The Four every responsibility imaginable and fill the roster with borderline NBA players.

Thank you. I think people see Westbrook's athleticism and they want that.

I'd rather have Schröder blow by his man on the perimeter and get in the air only to pass it to Favors or Kanter for an easy dunk.

You'd rather have Shroeder than Westbrook?

I can see where you thought that is what I meant.

I should clarify my statement. I want a PG that can blow by his man and dump it off to a big for a dunk rather then have a PG who can dunk.

Alright, I think it's going to come down to Scheoeder or Caldwell-Pope at 14.

I wouldn't mind that at all actually. I've been thinking about Caldwell-Pope as well. We can play him next to Hayward with Burks coming off the bench.

Obviously I'd prefer we go with Schroeder, but just in case Dallas wants to take that risk.

KCP is really a floor spacer, but he's a good enough athlete to play some defense, fill the lane and score at the rim--things Foye doesn't do anymore.

KCP playing in front of Burks??

Yeah, but Wolters can shoot and pass and get by on defense. He's a real PG with decent size. Greivis Vasquez isn't amazing either, but he's a starting caliber PG. I see Wolters being more or less on par with Vasquez, and actually a bit better offensively.
