Remember how a few week ago all the talking heads were talking about how this is the era of point guards? Well... Sorta...
Big Z and Gasol powered Memphis over LA.
OKC. Is still winning without westbrook.
Miami is cruising for another year without a PG.
Boston's best win came without any PG (game 5).
Who is indiana's point guard? Yet everyone knows David west and hibbert. Oh and Paul George.
Denver had 2 great PGs and went down.
Steph Curry has been so exciting to watch play. He's probably the best PG still playing. Yet, even he isn't playing PG. jack is. Almost equally exciting has been Bogut. After 2 years of injury he has finally come back and returned as one of the league's top centers.
So I am not sure if Your best player needs to be a PG. I think having good solid bigs and/or a dominate wing (king, George, KD, Melo, pierce, etc) is the best way to go. We already have great bigs. Hopefully unchaining Hayward this next year will help.
