What's new

Following potential 2013 draftees

my new strategy for the draft and what the jazz should do

1- if the jazz miss, at 14, Burke, McCollum or schröder draft BPA of olynyk, plumlee, Gobert, kcp, Goodwin or karasev

2- trade 21 to okc for 29 and 32. draft wolters and Carmichael

3- with the 46th pick either Ledo , Adonis Thomas, pressey

just for fun lets say 14 we pick karasev and keep him in Europe 1 year

FA, wolters, pressey
Hayward, burks
williams, Carroll
kanter, Carmichael, Evans
favors, tomic

pressey and Carmichael are both second rounds no guarantee for them. make them earn their spots.

say the FA is tyreke Evans. jazz struggle with all the new players get a top 10 pick in 2014. draft Andrew harrison, slide Evans to the 2.

Harrison, wolters, pressey
Evans, burks
Hayward, karasev
kanter, Carmichael
favors, tomic

in 2015 the jazz get the 7th seed. take their match up to 6 games
in 2016 the jazz get the 4th seed. 1st round win in 5 games 2nd round upset in 6 games and lose in conference finals in 7
2017 the jazz get the 2nd seed. 1st round sweep. 2nd round in 6 and win conference finals in 6.

i really gotta go, but for one, id like tyreke for more than 3 years at that kind of pay, and i think oj mayo will fetch a nice price on the open market this summer maybe 8 mil a year maybe even closer to 10, he showed alot of promise as an iso scorer early in the season

Mayo to settle for a 4 million per year contract for only 2 years last year, you really think having a decent season gave him that big of a boost? I could see possibly 8 at the very most.

I'm not sure we'd get #21 and #31 for our #21. I like what 'little' I've seen of Pressey though. (See what I did there?) I think I'd take Pressey ahead of Pierre Jackson.

have a better idea. trade #14,#21 and #46 to okc for #12, #29 and #32

for okc they could get the same player at 14 as 12 jazz jump dallas, and okc move up a few spot getting a little bit better pick.

Yep.. I'd do that trade if it ensures we get Schroeder. At #21 we weren't gonna get anyone exciting anyway. Plus I have confidence Lindsey will find someone pretty good at #29 regardless.

It's also a win/win as OKC aren't looking to draft a PG anyway and either Deng/Olynyk/Adams should still be available.
