Official Jazz workouts thread

Guys do we really always have to compare Wolters to white players? I thought we moved passed that as a society.

I compared the games of those players to Wolters. The fact that you saw race in my comments says more about you than it does me.

Nash and Stockton, like Wolters, all went to smaller colleges and had great success while there. All three of them are not athletic and below-the-rim kind of players who have managed to make it work simply by their creativity. The Stockton reference was chosen to impress you with his Jazziness. The Nash comparison is one that has been made since his junior year.

Schroeder to Work Out for the Jazz

Scott Howard-Cooper @SHowardCooper Dennis Schroeder said he has a workout with the Rockets in addition to Jazz and Bucks. Houston is 18. At this rate, he isn't around at 18.

Anyone know when?

Wait, if Schroeder had an actual promise wouldn't he cancel all workouts?

May be the promise was from HOU, but Utah and Bucks are showing interest, so he's working out for them too?

HOU doesn't lose anything by saying, "Hey, if you fall to us we guarantee you a spot" - just to keep Schroeder in the draft. Int. players can drop out pretty close to the draft if I'm not mistaken.

I would think it's in every athlete's best interest to workout for a handful of teams. Things change, deals are made and a player could find himself falling. So maybe Utah promises to pick Schroeder if he's available at #14, but then a team offers a higher pick in exchange for Utah's two firsts. Suddenly the Jazz have to call Schroeder's agent and say, "look, we love the kid, but we got an offer we just couldn't refuse." And perhaps Schroeder drops because he refused to work out with the teams slotted from 15-20.
