Karl Malone, Greg Miller and Randy Rigby on 1280 Right Now!!

Kanter can't even train 2 months after getting injured and no one's talking about this?

One Internet site (anyone who has better information, please let us know) says full recovery from surgery for a shoulder separation is 6-9 months. Another says full-return to athletic activity takes 4 months. How long were you expecting?

Based on the gist of the Jazz's media response, a couple of games (which anyone paying any attention knew better). I guess concern doesn't ultimately mean anything from our angle, I just hope that the three weeks he waited to get surgery was because he was advised to by the best advice possible from medical professionals (though I get the feeling that it was something less than that).

Also, I'm not talking about full recovery. Most guys are training well before they're fully recovered. I'm a bit concerned. We'll see how it goes.

This is great news for the Jazz. I think this is a perfect role for Malone. I always thought Karl would be a great coach but since he has other interest the day to day grind would not be his cup of tea. I am also excited about the possibility of a Favors/Kanter starting line-up. I am not worried about Kanter injury. I knew he wouldn't be ready to go possibility to the end of the summer.

Great timing - snatch up Karl before he goes to Phoenix and pops off to the media about what he really thinks of the current Jazz organization.

What a load of horse ****.

Hell yes! Imagine Favors and Kanter playing together with Karl on their *** to play tuff. Jazz may become a nasty team again. Love that. We've been softies for too long now! Someone wants to get to the rim, fine go for it... you *** will wind up on the floor though!

This is a good sign:

Jody Genessy ‏@DJJazzyJody now
Derrick Favors' desire to improve was an impetus leading to Karl Malone being hired to coach Jazz bigs. Favors reached out to management.

lets draft Tony Mitchell at #21 while were at it. You get a kid with his physical talents and let him work with Malone?!! Scary.

I am sorry to see Horny leave us and having Karl back in a limited role is good news. However, I hope he never becomes a full time coach. No way would Horny have brought him in. Karl gets emotional and flies of the handle whenever anyone hurts his feelings. And there is no evidence he can coach. There is years of proof that great players are often not good coaches. Even though I think Horny is going to be a good head coach, I saw no evidence that Horny made us a better shooting team - why is everyone convinced Karl will make Favors and Kanter better bigs? It could happen but not nearly as automatic as folks seem to think.

Just like how Hornacek turned all the Jazz players in to 90% foul shooters!!!
