Following potential 2013 draftees

Eric Bledsoe is 6'1.
Trey Burke is 6'1.

These two guys are the most wanted point guards on this site and guess what they are only 1-inch taller than Larkin. Shane Larkin is 6'0 and you guys are worried about his size?

Two inches (in a game of inches), 20-30 pounds, and much more length as well (Burke's wingspan is 6.5" wider and has a standing reach 8 inches taller, Bledsoe's wingspan is 8.5" wider and a standing reach that is 8.5" taller).

It's not like this draft is loaded like the '14 draft is going to be, so why not take a chance and go with a guy like Larkin?

Because most of us don't view it as "taking a chance." We feel pretty certain he's a backup.

Drafting Tony Mitchell, Giannis, Gobert and so on would be taking a chance.

He just doesn't look that tall to me. The article claims he's actually 6'10. Seriously? Does he really look as tall as Favors? He doesn't to me.

Paul George isn't better because of his size as much as his athleticism and being developed much, much better than Hayward.

how do you guys rate Larkins 1st step ? can he blow by his defender and get the jazz into 5 on 4 situations?? will he need to use lots of the shot clock to do it?

If Schroeder's still on the board though, why would you go with Larkin?
ones polished and slightly battle tested will be 21 in his rookie season, the others young foreign and very enigmatic quick as a cat and will be 20 oversized for his height, should have considerably more upside because of the frame... but more bust potential if your concerned with his transition here in America, let alone the NBA, or any random team

i like his chances on the Jazz especially.

amongst other things but most importantly, Paul George is a step quicker than hayward, if not a step and a half. Hayward is a great athlete at full speed, but he doesn't accelerate and stop on a dime like George, its not comparable, Hayward is a utility SG with some sharp stools. George is the goods.

also paul george is better because hes not currently shooting 18% from 3 in his playoff career

He seriously is taller than Lebron and is about as tall as Favors.
The article is about as credible as a Bill Oram article is to us....

I'm surprised this isn't common knowledge.

People grow and shrink over the course of 24-hour period and measurements aren't always perfect. I don't really buy that George is that tall (sounds like tall tales to me, pun not intended), and I'm not sure how much it matters in contrast to being JUST 6' 9".

Does everyone think George is as tall as Favors? I'm not saying he's not, but I really don't see it.

You've pretty much described the Hayward vs Paul George scenario before they were drafted.

Posted in the Paul George thread. That's why in this draft we've got to swing for the fences and go on physical potential first and foremost. Then, fight, determination and willingness to improve. We've got to get guys that are physically going to be able to go toe to toe with the likes of Lebron, Durant, etc.

Guys in our range with these qualities seem to be:

- Schroeder (elite speed, quickness)

- MCW (great length, athleticism for PG)

- Adams (Legit 7 footer, lots of room to grow)

- Greek Freak (Bball wise not there yet, but great size, big hands, enormous wingspan)

- Gobert (need I say more?)

Gone are the days when you can settle for the likes of Kyle Korvers of the world (Karasev) or Jimmer (Wolters). We need to get guys with athleticism, size and speed. The basketball side of things will come if they're willing to improve.

When was Wolters ever compared to Jimmer, this is the first I have heard about it. Jimmer could not even sniff Nate Wolters jock of how good Wolters is a passer, plus Wolters is a far better athlete and 3 inches taller.

Wolters at 14! If Zeller is there take Zeller, then Nate Wolters at 21! I am Big D Orcutt and I approve this message.

This campaign is brought to you by Vivint (home security at its best) and the Law Tigers!

wolters athletecism is masked by the **** competition, he is gonna be a major liability on the wing playing D

his athleticism with the ball is great, on defense his footspeed will be exposed...

WHERE ARE HIS LANE AGILITY #'s???

whats he got to hide?

Guys - Larry Bird went for a Home Run and got Paul George.

We can't make the same mistake, and play it safe. We have x2 picks. At least make 1 of them a Home Run hit, and make the other a bunt/line drive.

Hayward may not be as athletic as Paul George but Hayward's bball iq is head and shoulders above George, it's not even close, and that makes up for not being as athletic and it's not to say Gordon isn't athletic because he has shocked us all and will do more shocking.
