Following potential 2013 draftees

would unloaded either Tomic or the 46th pick be worth it?

I wonder what the status of Tomic is. He might fit in Dallas. He might also fit with the Jazz.

I think Dallas will end up picking an international player--Gobert, Schroeder or Giannis--and leaving him in Europe. Schroeder wants to come over right away, but the other two might stay overseas.

How much say does everyone think Sloan will have in this draft?
What if Corbin wants someone else?
That could pose some problems down the road.

Sloan has been in most if not all of the workouts, as well as the combine in Chicago. The Jazz are trying to keep him involved. The ultimate question is what system the Jazz are trying to run. Right now, I'm not sure they really have one. Or at least it's pretty watered down.

Tomic value as a bargaining chip is diminishing quickly.
He has a long term high paid contract that is difficult to buy out.
Can't see him having much value anymore.

My feeling is Dennis is trying to install the Spurs PnR offense.

If there was a year that Tomic would want to come over it would be this year as we don't have any backups signed.
He'd have a decent chance at getting in the rotation year one on the team

Depends how badly you want a PG who isn't 5'10". You're getting a slightly more skilled Grevis Vasquez.

Most mocks have him early 2nd round. There's some chance he'd go at the tail end of the first.

If that is what Wolters turns out to be then I am satisfied with that pick. Grevis Vasquez was great this year for the Hornets.

Do Jazz really want to stash players right now?
They need bodies to fill roster spots.
I hate the idea of stashing players any way.

At #21 they can grab a Euro like Giannis or Saric and stash him/her away without having his/her salary hit the cap this coming year.

Neither Giannis or Gobert are likely to be there at #21. That can't be their strategy. If Dallas moves Marion and #13, they save a few bucks by only paying a 21st pick.

I'm starting to think the Jazz should move up and snag MCW if possible. People are saying his shot looks a lot better. We already know he has the best passing/court vision. I was down on him before, but I shouldn't have been.

I've wondered the same things. I don't think the Jazz know. It sounds like Jerry's arrangement is only slightly more structured than Karl Malones. Although I expect Jerry's to be rigidly defined at some point. Didn't Lindsey say that Dennis or Greg would make an announcement about Jerry this week?

Really? I think it's the opposite. From all the interviews I've listened to, it sounded like, say with the Chicago Combine, Dennis just called up Sloan who just lives down the road if he's interested in coming in and looking at some prospects.

That casual arrangement was kinda extended to the workouts we're having in Salt Lake.

Sloan's arrangement with the Jazz has never been "formal" - he repeatedly told us that he's ever had a 1 year contract and that he would like to be able to quit whenever he wants, which is exactly what he did.

More on Giannis from DX. I don't think he will be there at #21. He's at #15 in the new mock. Right behind Shane Larkin...

Finishing the game with 12 points, Adetokunbo once again showed promising offensive versatility, doing a little bit of everything in the paint, from the perimeter, and as a primary ball handler, but also making it clear that he still has a ways to go on this end of the floor.
.
Once again, Adetokubo did his best work on the defensive end, where his length and foot speed allowed him to contest perimeter shots, defend multiple positions after switching, rotate from the weakside to challenge shots, and trap ball-handlers in the corners. Though he lacks strength, the 18 year old didn't let himself get pushed around by the more experienced player he was competing against, showing the type of toughness he'll need as he begins to compete more regularly against quality competition.
.
The NBA scouts in attendance had a hard time hiding how impressed that were with his poise and basketball relative to where he's at in his learning curve. Teams in the 20's believe there's virtually no chance he gets to them. While Adetokunbo was far from dominant here, he helped himself in a major way by showing that he can hold his own against legitimate players over the last two days against a collection of talented pros from Italy and Turkey which will earn him a significant boost in our top-100 rankings and 2013 mock draft when we make our next updates.

I don't think MCW has the nuances to be a great PG right now. Maybe he'll pick them up, but in the meantime he seems more like a combo or part of a 2-guard front.......which then makes me start to think he might be a bit redundant with Burks.

Regarding Giannis: picture AK47 with a better jump shot, a better handle and better finishing ability at the rim. His length and versatility make him stand apart from shooters like Bullock or Karasev. He should be gone by #18, which means I don't think he's really a reach at #14. Both Boston and Atlanta like him. I'm actually a bit worried about Dallas.

I hope we can get a deal to move up for McCollum, but I'm okay with a Giannis/Wolters draft if we stay put.

No worries bro, we forgive you.

Thank you Obi-Wan

I'm not sure I follow. His passing and court vision are the best of any prospect in this draft, and he has excellent defense on the perimeter. He had the most assists per game out of all the DX100 prospects. I'm not sure I understand what nuances you are talking about. His shooting (which is reportedly better)? That wouldn't make him more eligible to be a combo guard. I think he'll be a PG (and a damn good one eventually), or he'll be nothing.
