Following potential 2013 draftees

El Presidente Rigby on 1280:

'We were recently discussing the offseason plans with the Millers, and Dennis said if this particular move does not turn out well for us I should probably take the hit for it. Gail (aka Mama) immediatley said, No, we make this decision together and we'll all take the hit."

I didn't take that to mean they were going to go out on a limb and draft Larkin at 14. Something bigger in the works. The intrigue is killing me. I can't wait for June 27th.

Also announced Draft Party at the ESA.

I've been thinking about this..

Dennis said in an interview last week that he was going to have a meeting with the Millers about some proposal he had to get a sign-off on. I've been thinking what this could be given that:

- Dennis is much more of a tight *** than KOC is.
- He's FRUGAL to a fault.
- He often talks about "preserving the cap"
- He had talked about going young

I think one possibility could be trading for DAL #13 pick by absorbing Marion's contract, and picking say Steven Adams together with Schroeder/Larkin at #14.

Or using #13 and #21 to trade up and get Burke/McCollum.

- Marion's contract is only for 1 more year, so this suits his strategy / personality perfectly too.

- So that's why he would need to get a sign-off on from the Millers as it meant we'll have to pay for Marion's contract next year.

If Dennis Lindsay needs sign-off from the ownership, it most likely means he wants to move a player. He may be discussing moving one of the core 4 in a deal to move up in the draft.

?? And taking on Marion's contract doesn't need sign-off? It's approx. $9mil from memory. That's a lot of money for a draft pick.

The smartest thing the Jazz can do right now is take on salary for a pick.

... and that was the plan all along.

It's also the reason Dennis was quoted as saying, for standing pat at the trade deadline. (acquiring an asset by taking on a contract)
