Official Jazz workouts thread

Wow, MCW used three !!! in describing Utah. He must really want to be here.
=================

I am now convinced the Jazz will be acquiring all the draft picks between 8-16.

Why do we want MCW? He can't shoot. Didnt we learn our lesson with Ronnie brewer? Did we not see what defenses did when Earl Watson was on the floor?

I get that MCW is a great athlete. But without a shot he sucks

I think it comes down to whether or not his shot is broken (ala Brewer, Watson, Rubio). I think his form looks pretty good. May be it's kinda like Jason Kidd and how he was able to improve his shooting? It's just a matter of getting shots up and building the confidence IMO.

Every other part of his game seems legit & solid.

I forgot to mention, he played in the orange's 2-3 zone so we have no idea what type of a defender he will be. Buyer beware on MCW.

If you've seen DraftExpress' scouting report on him, he seems to be very quick on his feet when defending. (5.50 min. mark)

He CAN shoot. Just below average. He reminds me of Jason Kidd. Great passer, rebounder and leader. But a below average shooter.

Just out of curiosity, how does his college shooting stats compare to Kidd's?

Sounds good. But that doesn't mean he can defend. Lets look at the track record of players from the Orange.

If great combine results and highlights meant that a player was going to be awesome then Ronnie Brewer, Deshawn Stevenson, and Jeremy Evans would be the best players in the league.

What was Shabazz's injury?

I really think a deal with Portland or OKC could be on the table and it's just a matter of the Jazz being willing to do it.

I am on the fence with MCW. The few games I saw him play I wasn't really impressed. His form on his shot is fine so he can improve his shooting. My problem is he played in the 2-3 so perhaps his defense is overrated and he seemed to make a lot of turnovers. I like his size and he does pass the ball well.

I know he played in the 2-3 system, but we shouldn't hold that against him.

- can he move his feet fast enough to stay in front of his defenders? YES

- can we switch everything in the backcourt? YES

- will he be long enough to challenge 3pt shooters? YES

I think his ability to guard PG, SG and SF will prove to be more beneficial than many realized.

I am okay with any of the top 4 pg's: MCW & Schroeder have the most upside, McCollum and Burke will help the quickest... it will be interesting to see what happens. I am just not excited about bending evolution back and drafting a short Larkin.
