What's new

Following potential 2013 draftees

I'll do an impromptu mock.... impromptu

Cavaliers Alex Len (although it's probably not a good idea with the stress fracture an all)
Magic Noel (can't pass on him at #2)
Wizards Anthony Bennett (need firepower, have playmakers)
Bobcats Victor Oladipo (bpa)
Suns Ben McLemore (bpa)
Pelicans Trey Burke (new pg, Grevis walks)
Kings Otto Porter (Merry Christmas)
Pistons Michael Carter-Williams (size in the backcourt, a PG for Cheeks to work with)
Timberwolves Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (length and shooting)
Trail Blazers Shabazz Muhammad (offense off the bench)
76ers Steven Adams (see ya, Bynum)
Thunder Cody Zeller (scoring on the block, good in transition)
Mavericks Gorgui Dieng (interior defense ready to play now)
Jazz CJ McCollum (size, shooting, IQ fit right in)
Bucks Jamal Franklin (replaces Monta)
Celtics Giannis Adetokunbo (top 10 talent, fits Boston's new tank strategy)
Hawks Lucas Noguiera (defense and run-outs)
Hawks Reggie Bullock (3 and D)
Cavaliers Sergey Karasev (floor spacer)
Bulls Allen Crabbe (sweet shooter)
Jazz Kelly Olynyk (PF/C off the bench)
Nets Glen Rice Jr. (offense and toughness on the wing)
Pacers Mason Plumlee (PF/C off the bench)
Knicks Dennis Schroeder (fahrvergnugen off the bench)

who cares about the rest of it.

Can someone explain to me why McCollum is projected early first round, but Erick Green is early second round? I understand some separation, but this just seems absurd to me.

I wouldn't be surprised if Detroit took Burke if he is still on the board. He is a Michigan kid and they need a real PG. Knight is more of a combo guard. Besides the fact he will fill some seats.

Seriously, how often do teams target a player because he is from there? Seems like a pretty stupid premise. I don't think it happens as often as its thrown around.

Derrick rose?

So you are saying that's why they took him? I don't even know where he is from, but I'm pretty sure they took him because he was the best player on the board. Rose would have went number 1, no matter who was picking first.

He is from chi town though. I agree he would have gone number one anyways.

Wow.. if this is all Trey Burke can be, I'd rather take someone else...
Bibby was really good in his prime, but I don't see the comp. two different players
I've been in the anti-Burke bandwagon for a while. I just think that he'll be disappointing to the team that selects him, unless it's in the late teens or later.
agreed, however I like him in the first round just not so high.
I wouldn't be surprised if teams got cold feet and went with MCW and McCollum before Burke. If he's still available at #9, I think he'll fall all the way to #14.

I think Pelicans is KEY. If they pass up on him, I can see him slide BIG TIME.
I don't understand why the Pelicans would draft Burke or any of the other Pg's. Vasquez is one of the very good young pg's. They need help in so many other area's to wast a pick on a unproven pg and alienate your best player seems like a dumb move. I don't see them taking a pg.
They don't really have any solid backup pg's and Trey could possibly come in right away behind Jrue.
you don't intentionally draft a backup pg in the mid lottery, not to mention their best player is a pg.
In 5 years from now when we look back and see that Burke was mediocre and that there were others that are much better then my statement won't seem extreme at all.
Agree.

i think its reasonable to presume if porter and mclemore are off the board by #6, Oladipo is the pick

steals blocks, fg%... good fit with anthony davis theyd be the foundation for a monster fastbreak

hed sorta be the only "undersized wing player" (as i have rivers as a 1/2)on the roster which he isnt that undersized because of his athleticism and reach

also hes a catch and shoot/slasher (low shot clock guy) rivers tends to really over-dribble when handling the ball they can play 1/2

best case scenario, presuming we sign Dwight and CP3 with Al Farooq Aminu for MLE

Shabazz Muhammad@14
Ricky Ledo@21
Ray McCallum@46

chris singleton was a terrible prospect that fooled me, lol.

i dont like to talk bad about kids, but i was actually suprised to see the way he was acting, it certainly spread around that team, mcgee is a noted jackass they were asking for trouble bringing a team like that together

al farooq aminu is a similar skillset, tho hes much more advanced and hes selfless, knows how to fill the lanes on the break

aminu is also way more talented, and i think hes been growing...

singleton i think was clearly one of the bad seeds from the wiz, somepeople who are scowling all the time are totally full of ****

then theres people like shroder who scowl because their waiting to explode...
