I was only referring to the post from trout that I quoted. Why am I not surprised that you over-reacted to a politically sensitive topic, and assumed more than should have been assumed?

To be honest I could care les what is correct politically. These so called "african americans" have no more current ties to africa than I do. It is a sham. If these people have African citizenship than by all means they should use the title. But the vast majority do not and are as alien to that culture as I am.

Not really. Many of the cultural aspects of black United Statesians were born from their lower class status.

Also, many of them are Christian which contradicts the hypothesis you're trying to form on the fly.

I guess all Christianities are the same (i.e. none have been transformed by the cultures in which they were transplanted)? ... so wildly wrong I don't know where to begin. My ancestors in Jamaica were worshipping "Saints" while they were actually worshipping Orishas. This form of secret resistance left an indelible mark on all ecstatic forms of Christianity practiced in the West.
