What's new

How long are you going to tollerate losing?

Yeah but I'm sure when Lindsey was selling this idea to the owners, one of the major "Positives" would be that we would likely get a decent pick next year.

That is obviously a benefit of going with the youth of the team.

And I love that some people are deluded enough to be unable to see the difference. Jazz are building on their youth and planning for the future. But they will go out and try to win every game. Obviously they wont but they will try.

GS on the other hand was going out and intentionally trying to lose games. They made specific in game adjustments in an effort to lose.

There is a difference. I don't give a damn who tells me it is the same. It is not, period.

LOL. Like I said, other than a few butt hurt Jazz fans who banged on GS and don't want to admit the Jazz would do the same, EVERYBODY sees us doing the same thing that GS did. Look at this:

"Utah taking on $25 million of salary clutter for 2 future 1st-rounders is a textbook "Suck For Wiggins" move. I thoroughly support it."

Call it what you want, potato, patato, we aren't trying to win. If we were trying to win, we would not have traded for Beidrens and Jefferson. We would not be setting Burke up to start right away. But whatever allows you to keep your Holier Than Thou hat on. LOL.

I will give you this:

I don't think the players will purposely try to lose. If Burke has an open shot with three seconds left, down by one, I don't think he intentionally misses the shot. I don't think GS players did that either.

BUT

GS organization tried to lose. They told Jackson who to play and he played them. They took better players off the floor so the chances of winning dropped.

NOW

Look at what the Utah organization has done. They have dictated to Corbin who to play. They have taken better players off the team to decrease the chances of winning.

GUESS WHAT?

That is exactly what GS did. "OH NO!!!!! THE JAZZ AREN'T MORAL ANYMORE!!! THEY ARE NO BETTER THAN OKC, SA, CHICAGO, MEMPHIS, INDIANA!!! OH THE TRAVESTY!!!"

Then can you tell me what's the difference between:

- a team that decided not to go out and even get decent complementary talent (ala Jazz not going after Foye, DeMarre)

- a team that had decent talent but decided not to use them (ala GSW not playing Rush, Lee, etc)

Yeah there is a difference in how the plan is implemented, but I would argue the result is pretty similar:

- Youth got experience (Klay got MAJOR playing time with GSW, our young guys will get MAJOR playing time too)

- Both teams get decent picks (GSW got Barnes, we will also get a decent '14 pick)

I guess if you want to believe they are the same be my guest. Don't expect me to, and to be honest I really don't care how you try to insult me.

I already have.

It's not holier than thou.. you goof. The FO have assembled the players they have to evaluate them and whether they're a part of our future. They bdid not assemble the team to lose. They will not make in-game adjustments in order to lose.
They will play the young guys to get CHEMISTRY.
They will give them minutes so they can be better EVALUATED.
Those minutes will also gain them invaluable EXPERIENCE.
They will make decisions with the draft and FA in order to fill the holes they found through this evaluation.
GSW planned to lose for a draft pick, only.

I'm saying that our FO will be happy to get a high pick, but they are MORE focused on chemistry, experience, and evaluation.
If you can't see that, it doesn't make me holier than thou, it makes you a small-thinking conspiracy theorist.

Utter disbelief if you see it that way. Holy ****.

Ok guys I can see there's no convincing you.. so I would just like to leave you with something Green said earlier - even Bill Simmons can see we're tanking.

Big difference....

GS was trying to be a playoff team...

Remember Mark Jackson promised they'd be a playoff team his first year..

Then Curry got injured and they saw that they were likely to just miss the playoffs and realized they wouldn't have a top pick in a decent draft....

So they traded there top scorer for an injured player.... Yup an injured player... Off the top of my head I can't think of a trade happening involving a high salary injured player...

Then the told Curry his ankle was healed yet and worst of all took out there perfectly healthy promising rookie Klay Thompson out of the 4th quarters of close games at the end if the season and let Dleague scrubs loose!!!!!

They had to loose 22 of the last 26 games to barley tie the raptors for a coin toss!!!

That is What you call a Tank job!!!

Are the Jazz tanking we don't know yet... All the jazz have done is give the opportunity for our young guys to play big minutes and prove themselves as lottery picks...

They didn't trade our vets, they didn't even play our young guys over the vets, they let them walk!!

Hell they offered Millsap an extension (Probably kicking himself after only getting a 2year deal)!!!

So I would definitely say the jazz are doing this much differently then GS!!!

Just wanted to leave you a little something as well.

Glad to see that blindness is not contagious.
