What's new

Rip Hamilton

No, not because of Rip (who I'd like) but because of Ty. Rip is exactly the kind of player that Ty would ride. A vet with a great history that still contributes some. Ty would slide him right into starter and our core suffers as a result. I'd rather give all the time to the kids now and go make a splash in next years free agency.

Rip is done - he hasn't shot 40% from 3 in years. Last year was a career worst.

Let him play out the string somewhere else.

Why do people keep wanted us to sign old vet players that are not going to help us in the future. All a player like this will do is take minutes from young players and make us win 3 or 4 more games this season. We dont care about winning a couple more games if it doesnt help our future. Plus Rip has never been a player to help young players develop and throws fits when he is not starting or getting minutes, this is Raja all over again.

Once again if we are a contender than maybe he is a good player to get 5-10 minutes a game off the bench if not he is a waste of time and hurts our future.

Agree. For two damn years people here have been calling for the young guys to get minutes...

Rip is let go, and now someone comes on and thinks we should sign him, so he can take minutes away from the young guys.

No!

Only solid vet that I would make a deal for is a PG, preferably Andre Miller. I think Utah missed out on the Ridnour to Bucks situation though.

The Pistons seem to be throwing a reunion over in Detroit, so he probally should hop on over there

Ah, we're the same old Jazzfanz. I knew when he was released someone would make a thread and suggest we sign him. Congrats, homey. You "win" this week (sarcasm intended).

Make a splash next year..HAHAA\ ive heard it all.. No one wants to live in the state of Utah.. Hasn't that been proven by now by how many good players haven't came or leave once they can. Jazz fans have got to be high..

This. Rip is pretty much RIP as a basketball player. In his prime, I loved his game and he would have been a great fit when we had an effective offense, but he's a shell of his former self and he's constantly injured. Remember how we thought AK and Boozer were injury prone? Rip takes it to a whole new level and he's not that good when he's healthy so it's a complete waste of time. Just say no to any mediocre veterans who Ty might fall in love with at the expense of our young guys.
