Official Predictions:

Utah St- Win
Weber St- Win
Oregon St- Win
@byu- Win
UCLA- Win
Stanford- Loss
@Arizona-Loss
@USC- Loss
Arizona St-Win
@Oregon- Loss
@Washington St- Win
Colorado- Win

That puts them at 8-4 and I readily admit this prediction is based on best case scenario for Utah. Barring any injuries in fall ball, I feel like Utah finally has an Oline with enough quality and depth to stay in most games. In fact, I think it's the first time they will be able to boast an Oline that's actually worthy of PAC 12 status. They have PAC 12 quality skill players on offense, and a defense that I feel will be middle of the pack in their conference. That should be enough to get them some home wins in conference play.

I also think that it was really sweet that a BYU fan made the Utah poll. Good to see Utah is on your minds already.

I would seriously love to put money down on that record.

Okay, let me be more clear:
They have no chance of finishing 8-4. Trout has better odds of winning his election.
7-5 is a stretch. 6-6 is doable.

No offense, but you don't have any idea what you're talking about.

This isn't WAC football, this is the PAC 12. The big leagues.

I just don't think watching a West Coast Conference team has prepared you to offer any insight on a BCS Powerhouse, it's a whole 'nother ball game.

Love ya bigb.

I haven't tried to offer any insight on a BCS powerhouse. I was talking about Utah (a BCS doormat).

I am going to lmao when Utah implodes this year considering all the hype and ridiculously lofty expectations.

You will only need to wait for the first game. The implosion will begin directly after they lose to Utah State.

Utah State is definitely Utah's toughest in-state match-up. Win or lose it's going to serve as a great barometer as far as what to expect from the Utes this year.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

5-7. No more than 6. 6 is seriously the best case scenario.

Their schedule is hard.

Contrary to what some might say, I believe that the make or break will be at the start of their season. If they can start off strong and maybe go 3-1 or 4-0, then hopefully that will give them the confidence to compete. If, however, they start off losing to Utah St and BYU, going 2-2, I think the confidence of this team will be shaken and the Utes could be headed towards another bleak year.

IMO, they will split the in-state rivalry. I don't know who against though. It's a toss up. Keaton is the best QB in the state. Then again, BYU is talented, has a good defense, and is at home. So maybe BYU?

I'm tempted to say that they will split the Arizona schools too. Although Rich Rod's offense is sick and the Devils have embarrassed the Utes as of late.

I see them being blown out by the Cardinal, Oregon, and at least one LA school. Probably UCLA. I see them as legit. Also, because by that point USC will have quit on Kiffin. However, their name and talent alone will propel them past Utah in probably a tough hard fought game (as it always seems to be now between Utah/USC). The Utes will probably shoot themselves a few times in the foot too, giving that game away (as they always seem to do).

I think Whit is in major doo doo. And he deserves it. I like him but he's had his chances. He jackpotted for 3 years with that offense. Ya reap what you sow.

Utah will beat Utah St and BYU. Last year was in Logan, their QB got hurt, their backup was a DII QB, Blechen and Kruger were out and it still took OT and bad calls for USU to win. In the last 20 years, Utah has won 70% of the games in Provo. Add in the hiatus, a chance to win 4 in a row, and a better team than last year = win for the Utes.

I see them splitting the Arizona schools. 4-1.

OSU is a toss up. Oregon is a loss. Stanford is a loss. 4-3 (1 toss up). WSU and Colorado had better be wins. 6-3 (1 toss up). That leaves the LA games. I think both are toss ups. 6-3 (3 toss ups). Those three games will take a season from promising, to good, to fantastic depending on if Utah wins.

Everyone is down on Utah, but remember this:

Everything went wrong for Utah last year and they still won 5 games. They were a couple plays away from beating USU and OSU. They are better this year than last. Whitt excels as the underdog. They will surprise people this year.

Excuses, justifications, delusions, etc. Cry harder.

Whitt excels as the underdog? Bwahaha... I can totally see how you think that, since, you know, he has a stellar record of doing it. Er, wait...

I miss Salty.
