Jazz looking to pick up Gustavo Ayon off waiver

Without a doubt. Jazz are paper thin at the 4. If Kanter has problems coming back they're in deep ****. Evans would have a tough time bodying up 80% of the PF's in the league.

Ayon has only been in the league 2 years; but I'm to understand he's been around the block internationally. He a guy who can come in 10-12 mpg and not make many mistakes while still playing physical b-ball.

I'd rather have Ivan Johnson but Ayon is definitely a plus.

80%?? Try 100%. Lol.

Likely a need after the Jazz saw Favors picking up all those fouls in the national team scrimmages.
Totally against this move, though. Ayon might take minutes away from Biedrins. Weren't the Jazz going to try to build up his confidence? Besides, if the Jazz are going to be really, really bad, let me at least have the comedic relief of watching Andris shoot FT's!

Just say no. The team is already at 13 guaranteed contracts and if you do deals at the trade deadline, you need to have room on the roster for filler players. As for being thin at the 4, Marvin can play it and Favors can play the four with Gobert and Biendrins covering the five (remember, he wants to rejuvenate his career). And Kanter is working out at p3 right now, seems to me that he's doing fine.

Animatedly, I know little about him, and as a 14th player on the bench he may have some insurance value, but if you combine Corbin's propensity to play vets with Lindsey's thing for foreign players, this might be a disaster for our new hero Go-Bear.

Is that an adective describing mating with animals?

ayon will bring a few more fans to the arena with the large Latino population in Utah.

I would rather a younger guy that might develope then a player who is as good he is going to get.

Jazz can cut McNeal at any point, even during the season (I think up until a certain date).

Nah, I like getting this old young guy. I really think he is actually a great backup PF. He is 28 and his game isn't anything appealing. He is a big 6'10 and somehow teams aren't really too interested in giving him money. Hopefully we can retain him for the next 4 years and he can be our backup, because if you are paying Kanter and Favors big money, you really have to have cheap backups.

End of December.
Besides, the "tank" strategy likely rules out trades at the deadline, unless we do something like GS and acquire an injured player. Worst thing to do would be to trade Biedrins, Jefferson, etc. for a decent player that might add 3-5 wins to our total, likely moving us ahead of a few EC teams record-wise.
