Following potential 2014 draftees

Reminds me of the 2005 NBA draft... Bogut was the clear No. 1 (and the conventional wisdom would say - if in doubt - go BIG).

Doesn't mean Dwill/CP3 doesn't have just as much potential though...

Well let's say Blake Griffin vs Harden? Before the draft it's 100% Blake.

With how his game has translated to the NBA, and with hindsight, I'm taking Harden.

These are textbook examples of fallacy by analogy.

True.. but what I'm saying is even if Randle had a stunner of a season at UK and Andrew had an above average season, it's still hard to say who is BPA in say 5 years' time.

Randle could just be abusing "Kids" in college, while Andrew's skills set could be solid enough to thrive in the NBA (in the Westbrook/Harden trajectory of starting off slowly then shoots off).

All I'm saying is BPA isn't based on college stats alone, it's who that player will be at his peak.

Don't mean to be rude but.....duh.

Well I'm not saying take it as Gospel... but it's something to think about.

Sorry do disappoint you at this point triple tk, but Randle has way more offensive weapons. Harrison won't be that "tall" anymore once he's in the NBA, but Randle's skilllevel would still be rare by NBA standards. Both are around the same age and in that category I'd compare them rather with sophomores than freshman. From what I know right now I'd draft Randle over Harrison every single day and move Kanter in the process. You have one team dropping in the upcoming season, who are more excited to add a 4 year veteran than a 19 year old toddler, you can get a pick in the 5-7 range for Kanter. And in that range you find talent that can replace him long term. Plus you get bonus assets. But for this to happen Kanter has to perform and a good team(Say Portland, Denver, Dallas, Sacto(with Cousins), Cleveland or Washington) has to struggle due to chemistry issues, underperformance or injuries. These teams would love to pick up a big man and give up an accidental high lottery pick.
