Bill Simmons Article Discusses Jazz Tank Among Other Things

I can say this with a straight face- One of the best sports writers of all time. Easy to read and always entertaining thought out stuff.

Agree.. however.. I also like his trolling.. which he does plenty of, with humor.

Bill Simmons is for sure my favorite sports writer ever.

Troll? Hardly.

It's a formula: write a ton of good stuff for one fanbase then move on to the next. Meanwhile, write stuff for old fanbase that keeps you talking about him and generating traffic.

This rubbish is more narcissism than anything. You guys live him too much.

We live you hate. Step up and stop ****ing over-analyzing ****.

If a lot of our starters do get hurt, then the tank is on for sure.

I still think there is a chance we make some noise.

How can we not?

We have some nice pieces.

Billy simmonsPhoenix (+150):*Alex Len coming off a serious stress fracture? Goran Dragic and Eric Bledsoe butting heads in the same backcourt? The Morris twins? The immortal Michael Beasley? Kendall Marshall's quest to become the worst top-13 pick since Joe Alexander and Jonny Flynn? Robert Sarver doing cheap-*** Sarver things? Is there a roster you'd want less right now than Phoenix's roster?

This is pretty funny. Pretty much nails Phoenix

He might be analyzing, but I don't think he is over-analyzing. I mean it would depend on how you chose to define "over" in this context. I think you could say that maybe what he did there was super-analyze, but not necessarily over.

Over.. super.. under ...

I hate all anal.

.. except that middle option.

Here are the best couple of lines in that piece.

Do you feel good about handing the keys to Deron Williams after he lost a Game 7 at home to a one-legged Joakim Noah and Derrick Rose and Luol Deng in matching suits? Because I certainly don't.

Pretty sure his initial post-trade quote was all pro Jazz and tanking for Wiggins. Now homeboy has an issue. Stick to analyzing episodes of Lost and other alright-in-their-time-but-at-this-point-mucho-dated TV shows Mr. Simmons.

As much as I would like to see the Jazz move up in the draft, I really don't see his theory come to fruition.

I don't see it at all.

Who knows? How many people said the Jazz would NEVER tank? We're obviously tanking right now, it's just a question of how far we're willing to take it. I think there's at least a slight chance we might have some mysterious injuries and lineups toward the end of the year, if a bottom three record is within reach.

Bill said last year that the Jazz should give Al Jefferson the max and trade either Kanter or Favors.

Let that sink in for a while.

haha nice find!
That he adds Kanter to the gang of the scrubs shows that he has no clue on Jazz team.
Kanter may turn out to be the BEST player of this roster, this season!

edit: as of now, Jazz are not a team built up for tanking. They have the original core four + Burke = Core Five.
add to that the departure of Jeffersoft, voila this team is not that lousy as it takes to rally tank.
