You (and Spazz, who likey) need to read the article again. Even in this surly cinematic tale Hadley isn't doing much on his own initiative: he's hesitant to get on the bus, he speaks only after asking if the coach wanted him tox etc. Your post does very little to answer UGLI's question.

Ugli asked why the inmates would GAF about hadleys situation... My answer is that both the inmates and Hadley made some mistakes. Both the inmates and Hadley are trying to redeem/rehabilitate themselves.
The fact that Hadley was reluctant to speak maybe showed the inmates that he was embarrassed by what he had done. (maybe the inmates are embarrassed and wouldn't want to talk about some of the things that they have done)

My answer to uglis question is simply: maybe the inmates understand what Hadley is feeling and therefore have some kind of a connection with him

But im sure that is totally impossible right.

It's funny that in a day and time where every human being alive is carrying a cell phone camera that none of these beer pouring incidents have ever been caught on tape. What has been caught on tape is a byu fan trying to assault coach Whittinghams wife, a byu fan attacking a Utes cheerleader on the field, byu fans throwing trash at referees, and a byu player yelling "**** you" at a Utes fan. Why is there no videos of things like this with Utes fans?

There is a 0% chance the beer incident ever happened. I've been to every Utes home game the last 10 years, and it's a laughable scenario, just like the byu "remember the titans" prison story.

PS: I generally think green is a retard but he nailed it with Max Hall lying about beer incidents at both schools he attended.

Well you must remember that every byu transgression caught on video is talked about by Utah fans over and over forever.

I have been to utes games.... lots of beer is consumed, I'm surprised you didnt know this.
Maybe max hall lied but to say the way you know he is lying is because there couldnt possibly be beer available in the football stadium is flat out wrong

I would be willing to bet that 90-95% of beer consumed at Utah games happens outside the stadium during tailgates. I have a friend who's a die hard BYU fan and jack Mormon. He has successfully smuggled alcohol into LES and has been known to be drunk off his *** at many a BYU game. It happens. However , it's hard to smuggle in anything into any stadium that us bigger than a flask. How did the folks who supposedly dumped the beer get all of it in? If they were drinking beer during the game and still had some to dump, they would have had to bring in an amount almost impossible to sneak past security.

When you factor that in with no witnesses in a stadium full of people, no evidence what so ever, etc. it doesn't take a genius to see that it never happened.

And the transgressions that AREN'T caught on video are talked about over and over by byu fans....

Im one of the more vocal byu fans on jazzfanz and I don't believe I have ever said a word about any of the accusations about ute fans.

Again.... ute fans talk way more **** about byu than byu fans do about the utes.

Byu goes to the prison to try to do some good..... Talk **** about it. Why?

I've seen 3 beer cans inside RES. 3 cans in my whole life, and a guy with two of them got thrown out.

Anyone who drinks brings in a flask. They take alcohol enforcement serious as **** inside the stadium. I've seen dozens of flasks (i bring one most every game and got kicked out for it earlier this season) but it's stupid to bring in beer for obvious reasons to anyone that actually drinks.

Also @fixed. Am I wrong?
I said that ute fans talk alot about anything that byu does wrong. is that not true?

The recent discussion in this thread has been about byu going to the prison.

On this page of this thread alone I have posted in semi defense of byu, spazz has posted as well.

Then you have ugli, fixed, jazzman12, numberica, green on the attack because byu tried to do a good deed.

The part I think is outlandish is the slow clap and the "chanting byu louder than in any stadium."

It's very cool of byu's players to visit the prison and talk with those incarcerated. Not ripping on that at all. Ripping on the writer for embellishing the truth, therefore detracting from the good deeds the players may have been doing that night.

Close your eyes and imagine it going down the way the writer layed it out. They wouldn't even put that in a movie because everyone would laugh.

I want to go tailgate a utes game with ugli at one point.
Im really curious to find out if everyone just talks about byu the whole time or not...... I hope not.

Fair enough..... I guess I just don't believe it is a huge deal that someone wrote a puff piece on a good deed.

the ****talk is about the article, not the deed. How are you so dense that you can't see that?

You're invited every game! I'm serious, would love it if you came.

The tailgate on #n9 is required attendance, but you should come to more.

No, won't talk about byu other than to make fun of them if they are playing that day and losing or something.

Ya im sure Ute fans are right...... No one in byu's program has ever done anything good for anyone or inspired anybody.
Im sure all byu students and players are scum of the earth horrible people.... I mean can you believe how bad of a person you have to be to go to the prison and talk with the inmates and try to help them and inspire them.

Ute fans, you definitely have the proper response to this article. The article says that the byu football team went to the prison to talk with the inmates and that they actually inspired those inmates...... So of course the only proper response would be to bash the article and talk ****.

How refreshing would it be for a Ute fan to say something like "Good on the byu football program for trying to make a difference in the inmates lives"? (especially since there are so many Mormon ute fans, it seems like there would be a few who would support this kind of activity)

Still have not heard a ute fan say anything positive about how byu holds it players accountable when they break the rules.... That would be incredible to hear as well considering how many programs around the country try to cheat the system...... Then we see byu suspending star players for breaking rules and all I see is trash talk.

Your post is another shining example of why I don't like BYU fans. Not one Ute fan cares about the prison. If he leaves the jab at Ute fans out and doesn't paint the compliance officer out as the bad guy, the article never gets read.

Then you go and do the same thing by insinuating that BYU is the only school that produces good humans and the other schools all let their kids run wild.

Hadley screwed up. He's trying to get better. Neither thing deserves any press. Let him fix himself privately instead of all this Pharisee crap.

I don't follow. I think the idea that we're supposed to feel bad for Hadley or that he's some kind of hero is unbelievably dumb and can only be obviously, transparently bias-driven.

It's you that wants to shift this discussion to some quantitative thing about who talks more trash. That's stupid and impossible to prove one way or the other and thus a stupid premise for a discussion. Your stupid premise... and all in the guise of asking for moderation. Lol.

BYU fans talk plenty. Utes fans talk plenty. It's shocking that this happens in the context of a rivalry. Truly shocking
