What's new

NFL Discussion Thread - 2013

Never really had Stokely and Dallas Clark together though. Clark did not emerge until after Stokely left. Wide receiver's could be a wash (though I'd take Denver's current receiver's as I think Welker is better than any of the colts receiver's and Thomas and Decker compliment him real good). But over all as a team the Colts were never this good on Special teams and especially defense. Also those Colts teams were going up against another super team in NE. This year I'm not sure there is a team out there like that besides the Broncos.
.
Don't get me wrong this is the NFL and they could lose, and probably will. But I still think this Denver team has more talent than any Colts team Peyton ever had.

There's a potential new super Patriots team on the west coast. They play in Washington, have a nasty defensive backfield that will actually rough up receivers, a fierce d line who will attack Peyton, a monster RB, a decent core of receivers, and perhaps the most poised young player in the game at QB. They recently spanked the Niners and came from behind in clutch fashion against the texans. They're good. And play with a style more fitting to tough foul weather playoff football.

I love Denver. And Peyton is up there with Stockton as my all time favorite athlete.

But if the Broncos manage to not choke and make the playoffs, this team from the northwest has the talent and physical play to put the clamps on this devastating Denver air raid.

As good as the Broncos have looked, how can you not be equally impressed with how scary the hawks have been?

Everything about that hasn't team screams deep playoff team. Running game, defense, smart QB.

I'm a broncos fan and I don't want to see the Seahawks.

That is a good team. Not taking anything away from them. I fully believe that they are most likely to meet the Broncos in the Super Bowl. I also think that would be a fun Super Bowl to watch. A great offense against a great defense with both of the other teams pretty damn good as well. The Broncos have the best run defense in the league and are still missing their 2 best defensive players. I'm curious if that defense can slow Peyton, and if they can't can Wilson match Peyton in a shootout? I'm curious if Denver's defense can slow that running game, and if they can will Wilson be able to find other ways to score. The Broncos did a pretty good job against Vick and Pryor. 2 athletic QB's who like to run. I'm not sure if Wilson is any better than them and they struggled against this Broncos defense, especially where it matters in the red zone.

Right now Denver looks unstoppable, but not even in the same stratosphere as the Patriots team that finished the regular season undefeated. That team was other worldly, and still didn't win a championship.

LMAO at how over confident Broncos fans are in this thread. Super Bowls are freaking hard to win, and you definitely don't win them in September.

In what way is Denver lacking in that comaprison?

I'm a Broncos fan and I do. I want the Broncos to be the best and to do so you have to beat any other contenders for that throne.

Edit: But yes the Seahawks are on a level with Denver in my opinion. It is Denver and Seattle then everyone else.

As much as it pains me to say this, I'm not ready to write San Francisco off just yet. If Crabtree, AlDUIon Smith, and Willis get back healthy, they're still a pretty damn good team. Then again, I'd be fine with them falling flat. They'd still pose while falling.

Fair enough.

You didn't watch football back in 2007?

Not the Pats... So I know they went undefeated but I never watched them play a single game.

So again in what specific ways were they on a whole nother level from Denver? The question is really not that hard or deep like you seem to think it is.

I find this incredibly hard to believe.

I have no interest in explaining to a football fan that the 2007 Patriots were really freaking good at football.

Believe it or not it is true. This year I have not watched a single NFL game that the Broncos were not playing in.

I never ever said they were not good, or even great. I was simply asking what made them so much better than Denver. Not to catch you in a trap but because I simply don't know. If you don't care to enlighten me then I will ignore it and continue to hype my team.

I am not a football fan I am a Broncos fan. I am not an NBA fan I am a Jazz fan. Outside those two teams I don't know a whole lot.

Broncos best team evar never lose!!

PS: I actually really like Peyton and wouldn't mind seeing the Broncos win, just puzzling to me when someone is a mega homer. I'm pretty pessimistic about my teams.

I'm not saying that. Look at last post season. I am realistic. Broncos have a middling defense, need to work limiting their fumbles and continue to make the injury replacements work for them. They have also had a fairly easy schedule so far. But they are still kicking butt and a damn good team.

You want to call that homerism then by all means. Doesn't bother me.

Edit: But at least I took time to expalin my position instead of a cop out like you used.

K, just wait like 2 hours and I'll give a detailed breakdown of 07' Patriots vs 13' Broncos, just need to go get my telestrator that I left at home.

I understand that the burden is on me to prove why the Broncos are not the greatest team in the history of the NFL. Just bear with me, promise I'm not copping out. Just need a few hours to study film.

How much ******** you spin has always been entertaining.

Edit: Guess saying things like better TEs, better D or special teams is too hard for you.

Just go ahead now.

New England had the better TE's, better D and special teams.

What???!!! I can't hear you over the sound of me celebrating how much better than anything ever the Broncos are. Maybe you should stop like crappy teams and join me!

I may be a gigantic homer, but it's tough to blindly agree with all that. I'd take Julius Thomas over any of the TE's on that Pats team (even though he has not played much), D is pretty much a wash. Neither one is/was top-tier. Patriots have better linebackers, and Vince Wilfork. I like the Broncos cover guys better.
I do like the Broncos special teams better, however. Holliday seems to house one every week, Prater is pretty darn good (especially from distance), and Colquitt is a really good punter. Not to mention Bruton is a big playmaker on special teams, and Bolden seems to coming along there as well.

Holy Jesus was the AFC East terrible that year.
