What's new

***Jazz v Tankers Preseason game - Tue Oct 8, 7pm***

I like the idea of Kanter being the first one subbed out. When Kanter is posting someone up, the offense kinda gets stagnant. I'm sure the players will adjust to this, but for the time being, watching Favors just stand there watching doesn't look good.

Trey Burke in his post-game interview said he's really taken what John Stockton said about passing to heart.

Awesome to hear.

Haywards line is really impressive considering he looked to be having a quiet game. Only problem was that his shot wasn't really falling, and we already know he is a good shooter so it's not a big deal. I liked the amount of open looks he got.

Just think how good he could be when his shot is falling.

All of the C5 played pretty well. Godz, that was fun to watch. More fun than just about any regular season game we had all last year.

If Kanter can draw double team on him when every time he posts up then that can open up many opportunities. At one position when he get the double team he kicked the ball out to Burke at the right time and Burke scored the 3. When they don't double him he can score comfortably with his post moves and power. The thing he should be more careful about is making that passes at better timing and accuracy. When he dont, he would turn the ball over like he did couple of times at this game but also other players should get better positions and passing lanes to make Kanter's job easier. Also Bogut -who is a good post defender- defended Kanter's posting up attempts good but he find some other ways to score (jumpers). I think when the things are not ticking on Kanter's post offense his mid range game will always be there as an emergancy hammer that he can use whenever he struggle to score.

Every woman has that one problem. This one chick is hot but she has kids. This one chick is hot except she is chunky. This chick has a nice body but her face is whack. How come every single woman has to have that one messed up thing about them?

This reminds me of Enes Kanter. Why does he have to be so turnover prone. He would be so good otherwise.

Enes Kanter reminds me of woman, at least the woman I know....

Somehow I missed this thread. Now that I see it I'm too lazy to browse through 25 pages, but Capua-boy's pics were delightful!
I just watched the highlights and assume it wouldn't be worth too load a VOD.
Have to say Hayward's scouting looks dangerous. Is he the main distributor or is he just Burke's first pass option and happened to forward all of them? If he fills a lot of statcolumns he'll get very expensive. No likey.
In general: Retool inflated numbers in contract years - where overpaying happens.
Burke looked good in highlights.

I didn't get to watch the game (my dvr is screwed up)...so did it look like Hayward added anything new to his game (floater, pull-up jumper, post game, etc.) or did he just take open set shots?

Kanter will learn to pass better out of the double team. Has everyone forgotten how little he has played. Ijust thought the team looked good for their first game. Everyone contributed to the victory.

just saw the game,
man, that was beautiful

- no alfense
- solid d, almost every gs shot was contested, you just demoralize the opponent playing like that the whole game
- evans is the best 15min guy in the nba
- burks is special
- burke actually looks good, damn you haters ))

this team will be so fun to watch this season

AAAAAAnnd on NBA.com in the game recap, they said Alec Burke one time :D

Mostly 20 foot jumpers

That was fun to watch. I have not watched a pre-season game since Deron was a rookie. But that was more fun than any game last year.

I personally don't think that a truly awful team does what the Jazz did tonight unless the Warriors suck (which I think is preferable). We'll see, but I'm encouraged.

The GS starters looked disinterested. I don't think they made one hustle play. When Lee tried to drive on Favors from the free throw line and was then blocked by Kanter was by far the most pathetic move of his career.

one thing I was impressed with was his handle looked very tight.

I'll be the wet blanket.

Golden State was playing their third game in four nights, and it showed. No hustle plays, tired legs. Players aren't in playing shape yet.

Hayward had a nice all-around game, but he was still pretty shaky creating for himself off the dribble. More of those pull-ups need to fall for him to be an effective facilitator. I would've liked to see Burke initiate the halfcourt offense more. He was having no trouble getting into the paint (although he's still in the early stages of figuring out what to do once he gets there).

Gobert looked awkward, Jeremy got abused a bit when being posted by David Lee. While Evans energy and jumpshot were terrific, he'll be targetted by opposing teams with bigger bigs (not sure how many teams have the bigs to make this a problem).

Can everyone agree that this preseason game was more exciting than just about every regular season game last season ;)

^agree with all that. I do think the one area that was truly worthy of praise is rebounding. I see that continuing.

What is your very early opinion of Burke?
