What's new

Game 2 - Jazz at Suns - 11/1/13 @8:00 PM Mountain Time - Root Sports, 1280/97.5 The Zone

-Gobert has seemed like he's had a lobotomy. He just needs to stop thinking out there.
-Hayward had a nice clutch drive and three.
-Burks is surprisingly very good so far.
-Favors has been very encouraging so far. He just needs to get his blocks up a bit. His passing and offense have been pretty good.
-Other than those guys, we have no one. If we could get Trey, Marvin, and Rush back, we'd have a ton more tools (the good kind).

the core4 tonight

67/84 total points
41/53 rebounds
14/20 assists

i think theres a strong indication that these guys are indeed good, they are almost winning these games basically on their own. They need one more guy to push it over the edge, and thats why we cheer. we cheer because we can see the 4 succeeding, even though the record says L. and we cheer because we envision a 5th guy to push them over the edge. go jazz

This season is reasonably easy to predict. We'll lose a ton of games until Burke, Marv and Rush get back. Then we'll probably still lose more then we win, but at a more level rate. We'll be in most of our home games, and we'll lose a lot on the road. It's all been scripted out by DL and the other powers that be

i don't get it. This was a positive post. Our good young players all played pretty to really well. The rest of our team is trash and played like it. The garbage-quality of everyone outside the c4 was intentional by the fo.

yes, the ugly truth

Look at these statlines tho:

Favors - 14 pts, 17 reb, 4 ast
Kanter - 20 pts, 12 reb, 1 ast
Hayward - 18 pts, 10 reb, 8 ast
Burks - 15 pts, 2 reb

I'm liking it. If Trey can add 10 pts and 5 dimes to that we'll be that much better.

I'm also hoping Trey can be that clutch shooter at the end of games like he was in college. He certainly won't be afraid to take those shots.

Another post from me in case you're not sick of them yet:

The go to play last year was Al on the left block.
This year, it's a Lucas hand off to Favors who hands off to Hayward and then sets a pick for Hayward who creates out of that pick. This play seem really effective so far and there's a ton of options out of it.

Favors and Burks are more impressive to me due to the shooting % hayward with an almost triple double.

Apparently they like the option called 'turnover'

jk

Can I just say that Favors has been rebounding the ball so well this year (+ preseason, of course). He has been dominant, and it is a joy to watch him do it. He's rebounding better than I have ever seen him rebound. If he can get his blocks back up, he will be well worth his contract.

We really have a bench like ****. Its hard to win, if you have only one player named Burks who can score out of your starting line-up. Am I the only one who much more wants to see some stretball moves and passes from Tinsley than this stupid chuking from Josh Lucas ?

I agree with this, and Hayward is distributing the ball fairly well, and his rebounding has been by far and away the best he has ever rebounded.

but we could have had roy hibbert for only $4 mil more per year!

ahahahahahahaha

Ok I'm going to criticize corbin.

Why are we chucking the ball around the perimeter when we are strongest inside. He should be going to kanter or favors in the low post most of the time and have different guys cut on the weak side. I really think that corbins new hot potato offense is contributing to these turnovers.

The Jazz don't have great go-to scorers. The core-4 guys are good, but none of them are All Stars offensively just yet.
